other places caught a little action. The black death ended in 1353 but people still die from it to this day, mostly in southwest of United States Of America(Baidya). So many people were dying that doctors wouldn’t take patients, also people wouldn’t visit each other because they were scared of catching the plague, obviously people weren’t very sociable(Baidya). During the black death “60 percent of Florence’s population died from the plague”(BeneDictow). In the black death time period around 50 million people die in europe, that’s just europe there's millions more if you count the rest of the world(BeneDictow). People didn’t make it easy to survive as they became very unsanitary.
Europe had gotten so bad you could smell the town from miles away. They had a belief if they took a shower that it would wash god’s holiness away and they would catch the plague and die, which made life harder on them considering they were filthy with disease(Baidya).Dead bodies were stacked inside and outside the city, because they couldn’t dig graves fast enough(Baidya). The water in these cities was disgusting and filled with human waste, from dead bodies and people having no regulation(Myers). There was meat and fish just lying around with flies swarming all through the cities, which caused terrible smells and horrible health(Myers). Although the people and the towns were dirty that didn’t stop lies from getting spread around.
There is a lot of lies made about the black plague before and after it was over.
People started claiming that the churches were spreading the plague, although churches tried to help as much as possible(Myers). There was people who ran around and kill cats because they claimed that the cats were spreading the plague, but cats were also dying from the plague and couldn’t even spread the plague(Myers). The famous dance “Ring Around The Rosie” had nothing to do with the plague people just made stuff up and associated it with the plague, but it’s taught that people danced and all fell down(Myers). Plenty of people thought that the black death was a punishment from god himself claiming that if you weren’t saved he would kill you with this plague, they had very little knowledge on how it was spreading(Benedictow). Although people told all these lies that didn’t effect the toll the plague was doing to the …show more content…
animals.
The animals were some of the nastiest most affected creatures during the plague. There was no creatures but fleas and lice that were saved from the plague, which the fleas and lice transported the disease to other animals, every other creature was at risk at catching the plague(Baidya). The plague was killing off most of peoples farm animals too, making times harder on farmers and everyone in the town needing food to survive. The animals even began to become desperate and hungry and the dogs of the towns and cities ran around eat dead human corpse(Benedictow). People wanted the plague to go away so bad, they began killing animals thinking they were the cause of the plague(Myers). The animals in the plague had it really rough but it was also cruel and tragic in every other aspect.
There is nothing to compare to the cruel and tragicness of the black plague. The town had nothing to do they had no jobs left and no one wanted to be around each other, so all they did was move dead corpses to ditches all day(Benedictow). The leaders were scared of catching the plague, so they isolated infected people in fields or their homes for 30 days or more(Myers). The people had to began to go crazy, so when they had no one to blame they ran around killing cats(Myers). The people made it so rough on others to live, they would throw their human waste into the water that the town used(Myers). Those are just some reasons the black death was the worst killing in the world, there are plenty more to be found.
Today we don’t realize exactly how bad the black plague was, it was so tragic that killed over half of Europe's population.
Most people just overlook the black death but never really look into how bad it actually is. It was the worse disease known to man with it’s mass killings. By the end of this paper I have realized how tragic and cruel, unsanitary, full of lies, how disgusting animals were, and all about the millions of deaths that occurred during the black plague. The black plague still goes down as one of the most tragic things to happen in history. Some people say the black death was the worse thing to happen in
history.
