Black Soldiers In The Civil War Essay

Black soldiers have a very important part in the Civil War at the moment. They are fighting in the war because they need their freedom, the war is about slavery, and the Emancipation Proclamation is taking action. These soldiers are currently fighting for their freedom. In the beginning they were not able to fight because the Confederacy and the Union thought they would be useless, so they are in charge of being able to feed the soldiers and help out. Now they are allowed to fight with either side and that is fantastic! All the black soldiers think that at the end of the war they are going to get their freedom from slavery, and they should because slavery is a terrible aspect. All the slaves that are fighting right now, think that they are worth more than they actually are at the moment. Some slaves aren’t allowed to fight but the ones that are, are very lucky. All black soldiers should be able to fight for their freedom (Council in Foreign Relations). Everyone knows that the Civil War is about slavery. The war has started from the Union and the Confederacy arguing about whether the states should keep slavery or not. All black soldiers that are fighting
desperately need their freedom when the war ends. Everyone on the Union side is doing whatever it takes to try to win and get rid of slavery, which is causing more smaller battles during the Civil War. Although most black soldiers will not get their freedom at the end of the war. They are hoping that Abraham Lincoln will change his mind and release all the slaves, that will not be fighting, after the war (War, Terrible War). A lot of this action is coming from the Emancipation Proclamation, which is stating that all slaves will be slaves up until a certain date, and after that date they shall be released.
This slavery act has a very big deal on the Confederacy because this may end the war. This is showing any slave could be a freeman and fight for his side, and this is important because they should all be free. The Emancipation Proclamation is a worry to the Confederates because they are the ones that want slavery to stay, and if this act is happening then it could be dangerous towards them. People may say nothing will come out of the Emancipation Proclamation act but this really changes things for the Confederates, which is good, because it could throw them off balance so the Union could strike (Mr. Lincoln’s High Tech
War). In the beginning Abraham Lincoln had a thought about freeing the slaves, but about a few months ago he was not sure because all the people would be mad if he freed the slaves, but lost the war, and he wants all the people so be and stay happy with him. Recently he has loosened up and has told the people that the slaves could fight with the Union in the war. This is a very good thing because it throws the Confederacy off balance, and gives the Union extra time to think about how they are going to attack them (War, Terrible War). Everyone knows the Civil War is about slavery. The black soldiers, also known as the slaves, have the right to fight with the Union, or the Confederacy (if they choose) to get their freedom, and to continue the Emancipation Proclamation and help the Union win so the black soldiers could and will get their freedom.
