Blackberry Jam Controversy
As the 22nd annual and my 1st ever Blackberry Jam began I was very anxious. It took my friends and I 5 hour to drive here, we were so excited. The annual Dr. John’s Blackberry Jam Festival is a pretty exclusive thing, but when I came across it on the internet, it looked interesting so I thought it would be a fun thing to try out. It was my first time adventuring out of my comfort zone so I was having fun. Because of this reason, I met two pretty cool friends. My friend and I were getting kind of thirsty so they went to get water and other drinks while I decided to stay and watch whoever was going to perform. A DJ finally came on stage his music was pretty good, but there weren’t many people in the crowd. We were all dancing and jumping around and then we all took a break. …show more content…
She had cocoa brown eyes, brownish- tan skin, and a petit figure. Her very fashionable outfit is what really made her stand out from the crowd. It consisted of bright gold jewelry, stark white sneakers and t-shirt, ripped jean shorts, and cherry red flannel.
I was feeling adventurous, so I walked over to say hello.
“Hey, my name is Lilly, what’s yours?” I asked with a smile.
“Hey, I’m Remi”, she replied. I am a very shy person, so meeting new people is a very, very rare thing. I remember being so nervous, for no apparent reason.
“How are you liking the festival so far?” I asked as I tried to mask my anxiety. “Is this your first time here or no?”
“No my brother and I come here every year, it’s super from the music is awesome and the food is great.” She said excitingly. I told her about how it was my first time and about how I lived 5 hours

Around 11pm, people started walking in. It was packed with people that I can barely walk anywhere. This is normal which the entire freshmen come here after school, so it is always full of people on Thursday night. The atmosphere was really fun, people started talking and dancing. I went to a corner to see around, there were girls and guys dressing in nice clothes ready to hit the dance floor. The bartender started to sell drinks, that when the guys started to buy girls drink. My friends were all there, so we started to have a little fun too. It was awesome; we were all turned up at around…

    Ricky Z Critique

Unfortunately, I had class at the start of the event on Thursday night, as a result I only got to catch and listen to the end of Ricky Z's set, but I loved what little of it I heard. When I was at the block party I heard three songs performed by Ricky Z's and his band. I was excited because I knew two out of the three songs played. The two songs I knew were, Piano Man and The Way It Is. Although Piano Man was a Billy Joel song, The Way It Is was a song from a band the Range, sang by Bruce Hornsby. Either way I was still happy I knew at least two songs. This was not your typical musical performance I would be subject to at the Lunch Hour Series. Instead of listening to a musical performance inside the music room, the performance was outside which was a nice change of scenery. Due to the performance being outside spectators had room to dance along with the music and everyone seemed to being enjoying that aspect.…

People from different cities, and states come down just for this event. There are six stages, dozens of rides, and a full gallery’s worth of art, cool off zones, vendors, food and beverages. We were surrounded by the smell of popcorn and cotton candy. It felt like the carnival you liked to go to as a kid. Everywhere we went there were people dressed like rainbows. Everybody was dressed in so many colors, and dressed like clowns, with different costumes. The…

I walked into the room and immediately felt like a dickhead. (Which honestly, is not that unusual). I was the only one not in Coachella garb or wearing Native America inspired face paint. There was a person (I assume) on the stage wearing something close to what I think a lightning god would wear if he was spinning records. The thing was halfway through his set I guess the electricity went out for a second and everything skipped. I guess he needs to work on his spin skills (if that is even a thing). Needless to say I was the sore-thumb-basic-late-20's dude hanging by the bar...with a backpack on...in a club. I looked awesome.…

I remember when I was in third grade, I had just moved to a new community, and I was extremely nervous about making new friends. The main reason why I was so nervous is because the school I was coming from was very small and private. I went to Our Lady of Grace from kindergarten to eighth grade. The student body there was around two hundred and fifty at the time. There was only one teacher and class of about thirty students for every grade. There wasn’t a student or teacher that I didn’t know by name and because I had been going there since I was five years old, I really didn’t know any other way.…
