Racism is a serious issue that should stop. People are getting called names, beat up, bullied, and that just because of the difference in race. And the biggest problem is that it happens everywhere like: schools, at work, and even in hospitals. Racism is the belief that characteristics and abilities can be attributed to people simply on the basis of their race and that some racial groups are superior to others. Racism and discrimination have been used as powerful weapons encouraging fear or hatred of others in times of conflict and war, and even during economic downturns. People do get mental and physically damaged by people who are being racist. This isn’t normal in any way, so we should gather up and do something about. People who get mentally damaged by racist actions can do strange things. They can start to become racist themselves, or even commit suicide, which is a horrible thing to have on your conscience. Some people also get killed by physical racism, but in this way they don’t even get time to commit suicide. The best way to make this stop is by having a law made against racism, by the government. The only problem is that the government can’t check this at all times. What we can do is stop being racist our selves, and tell our friends and family to do this too. So eveybody lets put a stop to this, and just respect each other for who we are, so we can all live a peaceful life without being bullied or beat up by racist people. We were born to trust and accept each other. We were not born with particular attitudes or prejudice. Today we often read and hear people criticize one particular race, their religion and their behavior. Sometimes we are encouraged to take on the mistaken belief that there are distinct groups or races with the human race. These groups have particular characteristics that effect how they behave. We distance ourselves from others because we think they look different or they come from different countries. As a result of that

Racism is a touchy subject that has been major issue ever since its initial startup. Racism is the hatred towards a person or population of a certain race. The United States has taken huge leaps in equality, but there is still a long ways away from completion. Racism has always existed in America. When the nation was in its younger years, people owned people. People of the African American descent were considered property under the eyes of the law. How insane is that? Progress was made since then, but racism has only evolved. In the 1950s, whites and blacks were segregated to the point where they could not go to the same schools or even use the same bathrooms. Throughout A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry criticizes the state Of America…

Racism comes in different forms of stereotypes, limitation, and assumptions that affect certain ethnic groups differently than others but all have the same negative effect. This then creates stereotypical power status, giving the illusion of how one racial group is superior compared to others. An example that shows great understanding of the issue is the article, “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard to Talk to White People About Racism” by Dr. Robin DiAngelo who explains how the topic of racism plays a huge role is social interaction between people of different ethnic groups. The author states, “It became clear over time that white people have extremely low thresholds for enduring any discomfort associated with challenges to our racial worldviews.” (DiAngelo, 36) This displays the power of stereotypes to spread around communities about each ethnic group, resulting in them facing daily obstacles of how to handle racial profiling situations that results in people not being able to protect their racial feelings and human rights, challenge white authority, meritocracy which is addressing the issue of unequal right between racial groups, and white centrality. Overall, racism is just but one of the many factors that contribute to this broken state of…

Racism is a belief that one person is better than other because of their skin color, language or their birth place. Racism has existed throughout human history and it’s still going on today. I believe it because I am a Muslim and after 9/11 Muslim Americans faced negative stereotypes expressed by society and became objects of suspicion. My dad was one of them. My dad was told to shave his beard in order to work because beard is a symbol of a Muslim man. My father looked for other jobs but everywhere it was the same. So, he shaved it. This example might not be a very big deal, but it was in my family. So that’s why I strongly believe that America is still not making any progress about racism in twenty-first century but I am hopeful about…
