With these confusions, I was heading to
My first assignment took me more than four hours and still I could not turn in my assignment on time. I was getting bad grades C, D even F on tests, quizzes, and assignments during first semester. I was scared to fail, and disappointed with me I could not even sleep because I was doing my homework and study for the history class. However how much I tried for that class, the grade I was getting was C. I did not know what to do.
It was the moment

In other words, as you spend 13 hours a week in-class, you should work at Achieve for at least 13 hours a week. During the first 3 weeks of class, you spent 35 minutes working with your tutors.…

Cyrus launched Persia’s imperial venture, and his conquests laid the foundation for the first Persian Empire. In 585 B.C.E. Cyrus became king of the Persian tribes and in 553 B.C.E. he initiated a rebellion against his median overlord, and he succeeded after 3 years. By 548 B.C.E. he had all of Iran under his control and in 546 B.C.E. he conquered the powerful kingdom of Lydia in Anatolia. Between 545 B.C.E. and 539 B.C.E he campaigned in central Asia and Bactria and in 539 B.C.E., after a quick campaign, he seized Babylonia, and their vassal states immediately recognized Cyrus as their lord. Within a period of 20 years, Cyrus went from a minor regional king to the ruler of an empire that stretched from India to the border of Egypt. Cyrus managed to expand the empire by using the wealth and resources he had attained after conquering Lydia to extend Persian authority to new lands and build the earliest set of vast imperial states of classical times.…

Throughout this semester, we have delved into the history of the civilizations that have inhabited the world spanning from 1453 to present day. Whether vicariously from the perspective of a person from that time period through a primary document, or by means of explanation by author Robert W. Strayer and in-class discussions, we have taken an in-depth look at various issues and events over the course of history. Although each event was significant on some scale, certain events had long lasting effects that could still be felt throughout the world today. Each country throughout history had their “moment in the sun” where they experienced power and global recognition. However, one country who has their footprint over most of history was…

The document that I found that states the people of the colonies want independence from Britain is called the Declaration on the Causes and Necessity of Taking Up Arms, and was written July 6, 1775. It took me quite sometime to find this document, but the way I found this document was by first searching Google for documents that were written before the Declaration of Independence. Then I went through all the documents and read through many of them to see which ones clearly stated they wanted independence from Britain and met all the criteria. The website I found this document on was on the website titled greatamericandocuments.com. I then searched through all the different documents that were written during this time, and then on this website I clicked on the link that said Declaration of Arms, and found the material needed for this assignment.…

The greatest battle in our nation’s history was the Civil War. The Civil war was a very complicated war but most people just say that the North won just because they were better. Well that’s not all the accurate. The Confederacy lost this was because of a few disadvantages not because they were inferior to the Union. This Disadvantages were, the Confederacy had little time to prepare for a war of such importance, the troops of the south found themselves losing faith and fighting for a lost cause, a lack of leadership by their President, Jefferson Davis, innovations of weapons making easier for anyone to be accurate, lack of competent generals for the Confederacy, the Confederacies lack of an infrastructure, and the losing the battle of Gettysburg. There are more things but these played a major role in the outcome of the great Civil War.…

An experience that makes me proud during my first year of school was failing. It was a wake-up call, a realization that I could overcome a difficult obstacle due to the mistakes I had made. Therefore, I dedicated all my time to make-up all the classes I received low grades in. I pushed myself to persevere and not become a high school drop-out; I refused to be labeled a failure. I worked twice as hard in the classes I had received low grades; so when I was taking them again I would pass with a better grade I would be satisfied with. I managed my time efficiently to give myself enough time for each class and receive help when I asked certain teachers who offered tutoring. I took advantage of all extra credit assignments when offered, I believed…

Almost immediately after receiving my final grades i decided to drop my AP classes. I also was extremely discouraged to join any clubs since i felt that disappointed in myself for not being able to get decent grades. However , with time i learned that what i was able to accomplish was actually amazing; I extremely challenged myself to-do something that was way out of my comfort zone. I acquired skills that I know will be extremely helpful to me in college. All by myself I was able to learn, how to learn the material on my own. I was able to demonstrate to myself that I do have the capability to come up with different possible solutions to obstacles that I face. I also learned that through perseverance and determination, I am able to still accomplish, at least a part of, my goals even in the toughest of…

However, I ended up failing my calculus class and barely passing my economics class due to the numerous activities I was taking a part of and having to work part-time to cover my living expenses. The struggle that I had faced academically was a huge shock to me because I had been among the top ten percent students in my high school, and never once in my life did I had to take tutoring. Even though I was going to tutoring twice a week and setting more time aside to study, I still failed my exams which caused me a tremendous amount of stress. As a result, I packed up my stuff went back home to enroll at El Paso Community College to relieve the tensions of having to live by myself and to rethink of my goals about what I wanted to do in my college…

As I got older and got into high school, things got really ugly my freshman year. Hanging out with the wrong crowd changed my whole perspective on school and how I should apply my knowledge to school work. I can honestly say that my highest grade was probably a C out of the whole year. The beginning of my life changing didn’t take place till my sophomore year when I met my older cousin who decided to be hard on me in school. Part of that was him keeping me into football and other sports he thought I would be good in. It wasn’t till junior year in high school where I really took football…

This affected me not only academically but socially and athletically. The stress of the work isolated me from my peers and this caused them to complain to me in which I was pressured to work extra hard to complete my studies to make time for them. In addition to the weight of trying to pass and maintain a social life, I had to go to extensive hours of after school practices for my school’s water polo team. As part of the team, they relied on me to play my part and it made me feel burdened to practice harder to make up for my lack of good grades. Because of my naivety on how to balance a high school life, my anxiety was beginning to build. The next semester the pace got faster and the workload doubled. I was horrified with myself that I couldn’t catch up. I found all my classmates around me struggling as well but it felt like I got the brunt of it. It came to a point—my tipping point—when I was depressed and at that moment, I gave up. I thought, “If I can’t even pick up my grade then there’s no point in trying.” By then, it was rounding the end of the school year. My parents were breathing down my neck and treated me harshly to get my grades up but I…
