Bleeding Gum Research Paper
Bleeding gums is a situation where the gums or the gingiva bleeds. Most often, it is a sign of a gum disease but it can also be a result of too much brushing of the teeth. There are different causes of bleeding gums, and these causes are usually treatable. Many home remedies for bleeding gums surface all through the years, and these natural treatments are very effective.
Causes & Symptoms
Causes: gingivitis, periodontitis, vitamin deficiencies, incorrect usage of dentures and other oral appliances, pregnancy, hormonal changes, medical conditions such as leukemia and haemophilia, vigorous and hard brushing, blood-thinning medications
Symptoms: redness, sore and painful gums, bleeding, swelling of gum tissues

Aloe vera. The use of aloe vera is an effective bleeding gums treat due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Aloe vera destroys the bacteria that are responsible for gingivitis or the inflammation of the gums. It also helps speed up the healing process.
a. Simply massage a fresh aloe vera gel into the bleeding gums.
b. Leave it there to stay for awhile before rinsing.
c. You can do this twice daily.
Do not take aloe vera when pregnant or breastfeeding. It may also be hazardous for children and people with intestinal conditions, haemorrhoids, kidney issues as well as those who are about to undergo surgery.
2. Cayenne powder. Cayenne powder has an antibacterial property that fights off harmful bacteria. A person who uses cayenne powder may feel a slight and stinging sensation though especially during the first brush.
a. Get a clean toothbrush.
b. Sprinkle an ample amount of cayenne powder on the tooth brush and brush the teeth and gums with it.
c. Rinse thoroughly with warm water afterwards.

4. Different oil blend solution. Certain oils contain properties that are beneficial for the effective treatment of bleeding gums. The following oil combination is known for its natural properties that help stop gum bleeding.
a. Mix ½ cup of extra virgin olive oil with 7 drops tea tree oil, 5 drops black seed oil, 5 drops myrrh oil, 3 drops peppermint oil and 3 drops lemon oil.
b. Brush your teeth normally and rinse thoroughly.
c. Apply the mixed solution to the gums and massage well after brushing.
d. Repeat twice a day.
Olive oil might affect blood sugar, thus, should be taken cautiously by people with diabetes. Tea tree oil has no known contraindications but it can possibly irritate the skin. Black seed is contraindicated for pregnant women and people with low blood sugar and low blood pressure levels. Myrrh should not be used during pregnancy. Peppermint oil is contraindicated in children under 2 year old, pregnant women, epileptic and those with heart conditions. Lemon oil should not be used by pregnant women during the 1st
