That’s not to say that the band was never serious (“Adam’s Song” still remains one of the band’s saddest songs), but it happened more frequently later on. Number Seven: Hoppus’s Production Work.
Hoppus has produced albums and songs for many bands, including Motion City Soundtrack (mentioned in part one), Tonight Alive, Owl City, All Time Low and New Found Glory. He has also been known to make cameos in these bands’ videos, such as when he appeared in Simple Plan’s video for “I’d Do Anything” to sing his part.
Number Six: Box Car Racer Nearly Broke Up the Band. Box Car Racer was a side project featuring DeLonge and Barker, sans Hoppus. Hoppus felt betrayed by the others for leaving him out, even though he did contribute to one song on the band’s only album.
Number Five: Blink 182 and One Direction Share a Beach. The video for “All the Small Things” happens to have taken place on the same beach One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” takes place on, only 11 years earlier.
Number Four: Macbeth Footwear. DeLonge and Hoppus started the shoe company in 2002. The company frequently collaborates with musicians to make custom shoes and clothing and currently has a line of shoes that is completely vegan. Hoppus no longer holds a share in the company.
Number Three: Atticus. Hoppus used to own his own clothing line, which also frequently collaborates with musicians. Their current musician/model representing the brand is Sleeping with Sirens’ Kellin
Quinn.
Number Two: Travis Also Has a Clothing Line. Barker started Famous Stars and Stripes in 1999, before Atticus or Macbeth were ever thought of. The brand focuses on t-shirts and accessories without the hype of specific artist collaborations.
