A blizzard is a winter storm.This is when lots of snow comes down, high wind gusts, visibility of less than a quarter-mile,low temps and, driving snow.Blizzards are tracked by satellites, forecasters use computer models to predict the path of a blizzard.These are the only continents that Blizzards occur in United States, Canada, Washington, North pole, South pole, Siberia, Eastern Europe, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York. You can not prevent this hazard because it's a natural Hazard. Things to do to prepare for this Hazard is go grocery shopping, and get lots of water because you're going to be stuck inside for awhile.

The worst Blizzard to ever happen in U.S. History of 1888. This blizzard happened on march 11-15th. This Blizzard surprised the north eastern united states with as much as 5 feet of snow in most areas.This Blizzard caused a disaster because it killed more than 400 people and sank 200 boats due to the cold temperature and powerful winds. It took a long time to recover from this event, when the snow melted everything was flooded.

Did you know that hailstorms are not exactly storms, they are side effect to a thunderstorm. Hail form when ice slowly descends through a cumulonimbus cloud.Strong updrafts allows layer after layer of ice to build up until the hail becomes so heavy that it overcomes the updraft and falls to the ground.The hail can be tossed around the clouds as well between melting and freezing layer, so layer of clear and ice form.

A hail storm over 30 square mile area killed cattle , damaged crops , and killed sheep. Some hailstones weight up to 7 ½ pounds, this happened in India on 1939.In Rostov, 23 people and even more cattle were killed by hailstones weighing up to 2 pounds each, this happened in russia (soviet union) on 1923.
