Blood Gang Research Paper

For as long as I can remember, the talk of Gangs has been always around me. Whether it was waiting for the bus with my mother, or the kids talking at school. When I think of the word gang, I think of brotherhood, people who will always be there for you anytime, any place, no matter the situation. However, I wasn’t aware to the full concept of Gangs. For example, what it means to be in a gang, what forms gangs, and their daily activities. As ignorant as it may sound, I just went along with what society made people think was okay. In elementary school, everyone was representing the blood gang. So I represented the blood gang. They showed me how to do the blood sign with my fingers, but they didn’t really inform me on the important concepts of gangs. Therefore, I kept in mind the differentiation of colors between the two gangs, but I created my own rules. For a long time, I thought bloods were never suppose to wear the color blue, or associate with anyone from the crip gang. A friend of mine told me I was ridiculous because my favorite color was blue.
