The Lamborghini logo shows a bull or Taurus that is the brand founder’s zodiac sign. Ferruccio Lamborghini was extremely interested in Spanish bullfighting sport that is also shown in the logo. Bullfighting is the main part of Lamborghini’s style. Furthermore many Lamborghini cars are called as famous bulls. Ferruccio Lamborghini is usually accused of logo’s similarity to Ferrari’s logo. It was not considered to be an accident from Ferruccio, who had a lingering rivalry with…
Advertisement companies use logos to provide their audience with credible facts and statistics that will persuade the viewer to either buy their product or pay more attention to the message being conveyed in their ad. The ASPCA exploits this mode of persuasion in their advertisement by providing numerical statistics in between the animal clips.…
In this story, the devil, one of the characters in this story, convinces Goodman Brown to go into the “evil side.” He conveys both ethos and pathos in order to persuade Goodman Brown to follow the devil and join the people who are in the evil side. The devil mentions about Goodman Brown’s grandfather and father, and says that they have connection with him. He tells Goodman Brown that he helped grandfather to hit the Quaker with a whip, and gave father “pitch-pine knot to set fire on the Indian village.” In addition, the devil talks to Goody Cloyse who told Goodman Brown about Christianity and shows Goodman Brown that Goody Cloyse is also his friend. These pathos and ethos represent Puritans place great importance on the tie or link with other…
Logos- My first example is the logos commercial. The commercial starts out with a television on and the announcer is talking about the super bowl. The TV suddenly goes out and words flash across the screen, what would you do if your TV went out? Then it says the 2015 Chevy Colorado has built in Wi-Fi so you could stream the game. This is trying to convince through logic.…
In the first line of the song, there is a personification used. “Skies are crying, I am watching, Catching teardrops in my hands. ("Demi Lovato - Skyscraper lyrics, 1”) The skies are giving human like qualities by crying. It was an artistic way to refer to rain while evoking emotion from the audience ("Allison’s Blog"). According to ABC news, Demi said, "It was a way of expressing my own shame, of myself, on my own body," she told Roberts. “I was matching the inside to the outside. And there were some times where my emotions were just so built up; I didn't know what to do. The only way that I could get instant gratification…
Symbolism is a key way that Gow portrays the image of Australian voices. The beach is symbol of cleansing and harmony, and where lessons are learned. The storm in Away is an icon representing change as well as symbolising the power of nature and how sometimes we really have no control over many aspects of our life.…
The Foundation for Economic Education’s article called “Fast Food and Personal Responsibility” by Ninos P. Malek talks about how ridiculous on how fast food restaurants are getting sued for humans becoming overweight. He goes into more detail by saying it’s personal responsibilities on what you eat every day. On the flip side, another article entitled “Don’t Blame the Eater” by David Zinczenko from The New York Times talks about why you should blame the fast food chains and not the person eating the one thousands calorie fast food meal. The two articles are opposing each other and arguing who to blame for the situation. The article I agree with is “Fast Food and Personal Responsibility but it’s less effective to the readers because it lacks…

Although a majority of McLean’s song symbolizes the crash of 1959, the song also has several more symbolizations. One of which includes a timeline of events throughout the 1950’s and 60’s. Many of the lyrics of the song were written in regards to the nation’s transition from the prolific and uplifting 50’s to the charmless and dreary 60’s. The first lyric of the chorus, “Bye bye Miss American Pie” represents the goodbye given to the feel-good 50’s. This goodbye also represents the hello to the dreary…
Peter, Paul, and Mary's “Blowin' in the Wind” is actually quite appealing to a mainstream audience, due to the simple arrangement and catchy hook. The accompaniment is easy to follow and understand, which makes it accessible to listeners that do not necessarily have a music education. Also, the tight vocal harmonies between two men and one woman are very interesting, because that sort of setting is not typical for popular music fare. Also, for being a folk song, the twang or accent is very subdued, which would possibly turn off some listeners who might be averse to folk tunes. There's a good deal of vocal inflection in Mary's voice, which pulls on the listener emotionally. For someone…
The video starts with a white room covered with white sheer curtains and Carrie Underwood dressed in all while. Not even seconds later the video zooms through about fifty images and videos of people returning from the military, graduations, deaths, Sandy Hook shootings, Oklahoma tornadoes, proposals, and weddings. These are just some of the examples of the images that are shown on the screen for just a few seconds. The video makes emphasis on the military returns, deaths, and many happy memories. Carrie Underwood is shown many times throughout the video in the white, well-lit room. During the video some of the other images show the memorials of the Sandy Hook shooting, and the Oklahoma tribute, then the camera pans back to Underwood, where we find her sitting with her head nested on her crossed arms. This is a much more vulnerable side of Carrie; which shows the…

Hanna Williford 10/19/14 Album Listening 1 I listened to the album L.A. Woman by The Doors. The Doors were a successful American rock band that came together in Los Angeles in 1965. They were composed of four members; Jim Morrison was the lead vocalist, Ray Manzarek was the keyboardist, John Densmore was the drummer, and Robby Krieger was the guitarist.…
Donald Trump uses ethos to inflate his image more. When Donald Trump says “ I have joined the political arena so that the powerful can no longer beat up on people who cannot defend themselves. Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it.” (Trump, Donald R.). This quote uses ethos because he is saying I alone can fix it which means that he is saying that he is the only one can fix it and he would be the better choice. Trump also uses ethos when he says “These are people who work hard but no longer have a voice. I am your voice.” (Trump, Donald R). This shows ethos because he is making his ego better by saying he is there for when you need something and he will be the voice to make the problem go away or to make it…
