People will look tough but can they act like it? Bob and Dally both act tough but have a soft side in S.E. Hinton’s the outsiders. Hinton points out “Dally hated to do things the legal way” (Hinton 20). Bob is also the same way he has always been drinking illegally for many years. Hinton show,” Bob was something special. He wasn’t just a boy he had something special that made people follow him” (Hinton 129). Dally's Soft side leans more towards Johnny. As soon as Johnny died Dally had a meltdown because he loved him. Johnny was the only thing and person the was important to him. So Bob and Dally have similarities that can combine their personalities.
