Bob Snyder: A Short Story
It’s been a month since the murder and Jacob has suffered every day since. It is September now and Jacob still remembers the murder like it happened yesterday. Bob Snyder was Jacob’s victim. Bob Snyder had always been Jacob’s worst enemy. When they were kids back in middle school Jacob was always jealous of Bob, Bob was what people called “perfect”, he was tall and built well. He married the girl that Jacob always had a crush on. That is the reason Jacob murdered Bob.

The murder went a little like this. Jacob worked for Bob at a business called Bob Snyder’s Plumbing. Bob Snyder was Jacob’s boss. Bob always was the last person to leave the office. So Jacob waited outside until Bob was done locking the place up. As he walked outside Jacob grabbed Bob and choked him to death. No one saw it and no one suspected it to be Jacob.

The cops have not even questioned Jacob yet. They have brought many co-workers to the interrogation room, but not Jacob. Jacob was thought to be one of Bob’s best friends. No one thought he would do such a thing.

One day they did question Jacob. He was sitting in his house when he got a phone call. “Please come to the Los Angeles police station,” the receptionist said. He went over and one police officer named Nathaniel confronted him. “Follow me,” he said. Nathaniel and an officer named Trevor were not

Since they found no success the police searched every worker’s house. They checked Jacob’s last. When they arrived, a cop named Jerry greeted him, “Hello is this Jacob?” “Yes” he replied. “Is it ok if we search your house to look for evidence of the Bob Snyder murder.” Jerry asked. Jacob agreed and they searched his house. Jacob knew he was ok because he left no evidence in the house. While the police were searching his house Jacob asked, “Have you found any evidence of who did it.” Jerry replied with, “Not yet we have searched twelve households and nothing yet.” They continued to

A Cleveland detective (McFadden), on a downtown beat which he had been patrolling for many years, observed two stranger on a street corner. He saw them proceed alternately back and forth along an identical route, pausing to stare in the same store window, which they did for a total of about 24 times. Each completion of the route was followed by a conference between the two on a corner, at one of which they were joined by a third man who left swiftly. Suspecting the two men of "casing a job, a stick-up," the officer followed them and saw them rejoin the third man a couple of blocks away in front of a store. The officer approached the three, identified himself as a policeman, and asked their names. The men "mumbled something," whereupon McFadden spun petitioner around, patted down his outside clothing, and found in his overcoat pocket, but was unable to remove, a pistol. The officer ordered the three into the store. He removed petitioner's overcoat, took out a revolver, and ordered the three to face the wall with their hands raised. He patted down the outer clothing of Chilton and Katz and seized a revolver from Chilton's outside overcoat pocket. He did not put his hands under the outer garments of Katz (since he discovered nothing in his pat-down which might have been a weapon), or under petitioner's or Chilton's outer garments until he felt the guns. The three were taken to the police station. Petitioner and Chilton were charged with carrying concealed weapons.…

I think that this was an unfortunate thing that happened to this young boy and I wish that someone would have gotten him help before it was too late. I think that Jacob should have received a life sentence without parole because he chose to murder his mother and step-father and he was old enough to know right from wrong. I feel like he should’ve reached out and tried to get help at school. Jacob’s brother, Charles speculated that he thought his mother knew what was happening, so for Jacob to take her life without knowing if she was aware of the situation makes me lean more towards him deserving to be in jail. I know Jacob must have been angry and that because of his anger he killed them both, but I do not think Jacob had a reason to kill his mother, due to Charles statement resembling…
