Bodily systems are basically default programmes within our body that pickup information from within or the external environment and trigger an automated response. For example if you were to run, your body would increase its heart rate to match the oxygen demand made by the muscles. This is done without thinking and it is made possible by how the brain has cleverly integrated with all the bodily systems, from the digestive system to the circulatory system. It is critical that all systems are working accordingly otherwise this can cause harm to the body. Without these systems we would have zero chance of survival.
The above illustration shows the 11 bodily systems and where they are located in the body of …show more content…
In order to use the food we eat, our body has to break the food down into smaller molecules that it can process; it also has to excrete waste. The digestion starts in the mouth where we chew food to increase its surface area so stomach acid has more area to work on speeding up the process of digestion. Finally the food leaves the body via the anus, which is an opening at the end of the digestive system from which faeces exit the body.
Nervous system-
You nervous system is made up of your brain, your spinal cord, and an large complicated network of nerves that thread throughout your body, it's the control centre for your entire body. Your brain uses information it receives from your nerves to bring together all of your actions and reactions. Without it, you would not exist. The nervous system is divided into two parts: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). Although they have different functions, they work cooperatively. The main role served by the Central Nervous System is that along with the PNS it contributes a huge control on the organisms behaviour. On the other hand the main function of the Peripheral Nervous System is to connect the Central Nervous System with the variety of organs in the body and the
