BOHOL CASE STUDY
1.) Problem: Most of the larger mountain resorts are located at flat portions of the area facing the lake.
Factor / Cause of the problem: The popularity of Tagaytay has attracted many investors from the tourism industry and other sectors.
2.) Problem: Several smaller establishments are currently under construction along the steep slopes. Factor / Cause of the problem: It is also caused by the popularity of Tagaytay which attracted many investors from the tourism industry and other sectors.
3.) Problem: Several establishments and residential units have already blocked the view of the volcano and the lake from the road.
Factor / Cause of the problem: It is caused by those companies and industries that were aiming and keep on establishing their business in Tagaytay.
4.) Problem: There had been several volcanic activities that made the settlers on the volcano island evacuate. The last violent eruption, in 1967, killed several people and created a gaping center on the island.
Factor / Cause of the problem: The issue about the last violent eruption that affected the city caused by the 30 volcanic vents that are recorded on the volcano island and in the lake. Another factor is that, the city is situated at the edge of a huge prehistoric volcano and very near the active Taal Volcano.
5.) Problem: Several large subdivisions are being developed in the city. Most of the subdivisions used to be agricultural lands. One is even located near water shed. Factor / Cause of the problem: This problem is also caused by those business minded people who were attracted by the beauty of Tagaytay and build their subdivisions in the city.

SAGADA
Banaue
1.) Problem: Difficulties in going to the destinations. actor / Cause: It is caused by the natural disaster that occasionally destroys some of the roads making the journey long and tiring.
2.) Problem: The caves in Sagada are also being exploited, thus, the limestone formations are damaged, both by souvenir collectors and vandals. Factor / Cause: The souvenir collectors and vandals are the factors which lead to the exploitation of the caves in Sagada.
3.) Problem: Burial caves have suffered desecration, because some visitors collected some bone parts
Factor / Cause: The desecration of the burial caves in Sagada was caused by the visitors who are fond of collecting bone parts as a souvenir.
4.) Problem: Other people in Banaue set aside cultivating the rice terraces and left the watersheds unattended.
Factor / Cause: They set aside cultivating because they know that they will earn money easily from the tourist.

5.) Problem: The locals are beginning to rely mostly on the tourist for their income.

Factor / Cause: This problem is caused by the Popularity of their place and the tourist who visits the Banaue and Sagada regularly.

1.) Problem: Loss of many of the Reserve’s animals that were allowed to roam free.
Factor / Cause: The Balik-Calauit movement members were the reason of the loss of the animals that were allowed to roam free. Maybe because they sell the animals that they caught and the other residents cook it for food as well.
2.) Problem: The presence of the Balik-Calauit Movement (BCM) in the island’s perimeter that tried to claim and resettle in the island.
Factor / Cause: They were trying to claim the island and resettle again to this place because of the richness of the marine waters around the island.
3.) Problem: Many of the facilities in the island were left unattended. Factor / Cause: Many of the facilities in the island were left unattended because of the scarcity of funds of the government.
4.) Problem: In the dry months, the island’s water supply was barely enough to meet the needs of the management staff and the animals.
Factor / Cause: The water supply was barely enough to meet the needs of the island in the dry months because of the water pipes that were already damaged.
5.) Problem: Calauit forests and mangroves were prey to destructive practices (Mangroves were periodically cut for firewood.)
Factor / Cause: Mangroves and forest trees were periodically cut because most of the residents in Calauit depend their livelihood on it. The trees were used as firewood.

V.] Factors / Causes of the Problems
1.) Problem: Visitors and park personnel fish out those swiftlets which land to water and dry them off. Factor / Cause: Those swiftlets that lands to water is caused by the light emissions which lead to their temporary blindness.
2.) Problem: The behavior of park residents such as monkeys, monitor lizard, tabon birds, swiftlets and bats found in the underground area have been affected by the inroads of tourism.
Factor / Cause: This problem is caused by the tourist who visits the place. They can disturb and affect the behavior of the animals that can be found in the cave.
3.) Problem: The swiflets get temporarily blinded and fly off, with some landing on the water.
Factor / Cause: The temporary blindness of the swiftlets is caused by both light and lamp emissions brought by the tourist and park personnel.
4.) Problem: There are no monkeys, birds or lizards can be sighted for several hours.
Factor / Cause: This is caused by the visitors who come aboard helicopters, which land on the beach nearest the underground river. The park’s wildlife is sensitive to noise.
5.) Problem: Disturbance of wildlife inside the cave and the effects of continued traffic of tourists. Factor / Cause: The factor of this problem is the invention of the halogen lights powered by car batteries which replaced the lamps in the year 90.
6.) Problem: Lamp emissions affect the air quality and may have contributed to the higher acidity level of the water, thus affecting the limestone formations, and even the marine life of the river.
Factor / Cause: This dilemma is caused by those light and lamp emissions brought by the tourist and park’s personnel.
