Bon Jovi: Music Analysis

I would describe the general musical style of Bon Jovi as a mix of pop and hard rock. Overall, the band’s iconic songs contain a very a great uplifting beat, and are mixed with the unforgettable rough vocals of Jon Bon Jovi. The reason that I believe that Bon Jovi represents the sub genre of hard rock. The reason for this is because the band Bon Jovi uses instruments to create a nice, steady, beat, and the electric guitar provides a distorted sound mixed with Jon Bon Jovi’s raspy harsh vocals. In songs like “Bad Medicine”, most of the vocals are not technically being sung, instead Jon Bon Jovi screams the chorus, which heightens the overall feel of the music. But then there are songs like “Always,” which is a more smooth and ballad like piece. Finally, add to the mix songs like “Livin on a Prayer” and “It’s My Life,” with its great beat, vocals, and overall emotional feel, and you’ll the talented whirlwind that is Bon Jovi. In all honesty, I will admit that I genuinely enjoyed being in the audience and watching the entire show. It was unforgettable! Initially, it was a bit difficult for me to fully come to terms with the fact that I was there, and that it was a dream. It was honestly the first concert that either my mom or I had ever gone to, but I feel like I can say that it was the best concert ever. I would say that my absolute favorite part of the whole night was the encore, when they were playing “Livin on a Prayer”, which is my all time favorite Bon Jovi song, and everyone was singing at the top of their lungs, I saw that some people were crying a little bit, but overall we were all living and enjoying the infectious excitement present in the atmosphere of the entire arena that
