I’m Antonio Jones, just another student at the high school. I personally think that giving money to charity is a great idea. It’s a good way to spend and also share your money with people who don’t have much or none. Just for the simple fact that there are people all over the world that are starving. It would be okay if the school’s treasury could give 250$ to each or give 500$ to both, but they can’t.…
Just four days after his birth on July 15, 1573, Inigo Jones, the great English architect, was baptized at St. Bartholomew-the-Less in Smithfield, England. This was around the same time that the Elizabethan style of architecture was becoming well established (Gotch 6). He was named after his father, a cloth maker, though there is not much known about his childhood or the identity of his mother. However, what is known is that he was one of England's most interesting and notable designers in architecture, influencing the work of those that came after him. He was able to do so by applying Italian ways of thought and methods in is work under the patronage of the King and the Court (Gotch 7).…

The comparison among religious experience…
Olaudah Equiano was born in 1745, in now what is known as Nigeria, but back then was known as the region inhabited by the Igbo people. He was one of 7 children, the youngest of 6 boys, and he also had one younger sister. Source 1, Equiano’s autobiography, “The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa the African”, which tells the story of how he was kidnapped at a young age, possibly 11, from the Igbo village of Essaka in the region of Benin, where he had grown up. From here he endured the Middle Passage to the “New World”, where he was forced to into slave labour. This being said, some writers, however, claim that Equiano was born in colonial South Carolina and not in Africa. Source 2, is a map that shows the route of Equiano’s many travels throughout his long career that was said to be 8 years, at sea. It clearly demonstrates…
Compare the 18th century African slave trade to a game of checkers. Played on a checkered board of 64 opposing colors, the object of checkers is to capture or block all the men of an opponent. Careful planning of attack and defense are key elements to winning. The Interesting Narrative of Olaudah Equiano does more than just detail the experiences of a former African slave, it sets forth the play sequence between the various players engaged in the slave trade, the emotions involved, the effects and consequences on the players, and the future of the game if it were allowed to continue.…

Olaudah Equiano’s The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano or Gustavas Vassa, the African, Written by Himself, not only displays triumph over oppression, an attribute that is hailed as the cornerstone of a model American, but chronicles the beginning point of Americas change in attitude towards ethnic exclusion by discrimination.Interestingly Equiano spent most of his life in America as a slave and it is probable that Equiano wouldn’t consider himself in any fashion as an American. According to the “Norton Anthology of American Literature,”…

Claudette and Malala heroically stood up for their injustices in the community. Claudette didn’t get up knowing the backlash she could get for not being oppressed by a “superior”. Malala got up that morning knowing that she probably wouldn’t return home that day. I feel like these women knew the risk but fought for their rights that had been taking like they were a child on punishment this why I nominate these for this essay.…
