Book Analysis: Zombies Vs. Unicorns
Zombies vs Unicorns. TeaM Zombie: Justine Larbalestier. Team Unicorn: Holly Black. Book Report By:Tia.Crisp

The children of the revolution is a team zombie story. The story's setting is mostly in England but in some cases can be read as the characters point of view in London. The first setting is the character in England, although the story does not clearly state a time period I can assume it is in the modern era because of the advanced electricity and and other things mentioned throughout the story. From the mentions of modern items and things like a famous celebrity, and the character's mindset on many things the other characters are doing, also clothing i would say that the year is in the late 2000, maybe 2014-2016.

The main character in this story is an American girl named Sofie who is a sort of gullible freshman in College with to little sleep an experimental haircut and a crazy roommate. Sofie started dating a boy named Franklin (a model when he was 13) when she fell over him on

The overall book Zombies vs. Unicorns was a great read and very entertaining to explore all the types of deadly ozzy but oddly human zombies and Cute fluffy but also slightly killer and dangerous Unicorns. Justine Larbalestier and Holly Black have both expressed their opinion on the question that has donned the earth since the beginning of time, well not the beginning of time but definitely since February 2007, here is who else expressed their opinions in this book Team Zombie: Led By Justine Larbalestier , Libba Bray, Cassandra Clare, Alaya Dawn Johnson, Maureen Johnson, Carrie Ryan and Scott Westerfeld. Team Unicorn: Led By:Holly Black , Meg Cabot, Kathleen Duey, Margo Lanagan, Garth Nix, Naomi Novik, Diana Peterfreund. I would recommend this book to people i rate it 5

In the novel they give us the impression that the setting is in modern day Syracuse. The main character and the person that tells most of the story is Melinda Sordino. In the novel she is a struggling teen that had to deal with getting raped at a party a summer before her first day of high school. At the party she ends up getting drunk and meeting another character named Andy Evans. After getting raped she panics and calls 911 and the police break into the party and they arrest some of her friends for underage drinking. That summer she lost her friends because of what she had done at the party and held grudges without knowing she had gotten raped by Andy Evans. Her grades end up getting affected tremendously and she looses who she was before getting raped, which was a happy and girly teenage girl. Throughout the novel she dresses in dull clothing and try’s to cope with the situation. At the end of the novel she finally snaps and tells her old friends what had happened and ends up as a sort of “inspiration” or hero and gains the respect of her former friends and high school and try’s to move on from that step by step.…

In Jerry Toner’s book The Day Commodus Killed a Rhino: Understanding the Roman Games, the reader is introduced into the violent, blood thirsty society that is the Roman Empire. In the prologue to the book, Toner writes “One modern writer described these ‘bloodthirsty human holocausts’ as ‘by far the nastiest blood-sport ever invented. He claimed that ‘the two most quantitatively destructive institutions in History are Nazism and the Roman Gladiators’.” The Roman Empire, as a whole, was a violent society. Their violence though, was something that was celebrated and embodied by Romans. In Jerry Toner’s book The Day Commodus Killed a Rhino: Understanding the Roman Games, it becomes evident through the Romans “bread and circus” society, that being…

In a world in a fight against, good and evil, right and wrong, anarchy and hegemony, finding common grounds between liberals, neo- conservatism, social constructivism and realism seems infeasible. “Real magic can never be made by offering someone else’s liver. You must tear out your own, and not expect to get it back.” (Beagle, 38). Humans, by nature, are often selfish. In this quote, the Unicorn tend to step on other’s toes for our personal gain, deserting our friends. The Last Unicorn, by Peter S. Beagle, is unarguably a fairy tale which richly depicts heroes and happily-ever-afters. Fairy tales usually depict characters, or heroes, who set out in to the world to accomplish a specific task or solve a particular problem. This fairy tale doesn’t just present simple thoughts of true love and conquering evil, but instead constructs characters that battle to find their own happy ending in a harsh reality. The immortal unicorn struggles…

According to the Pew Research Center, approximately 11.3 million undocumented immigrants currently reside in the United States. Of this total, the top 3 countries the unauthorized immigrants derived from are El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico. The nation is divided due to the variances in perspective of illegal immigration; whether you are for it or against it. Subsequently, the propaganda concerning immigration reform continues to play a prevailing role in U.S. legislations as well. Former President Ronald Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 in effort to end illegal immigration, however, the contrary happened. In other words, fraudulent settlers are inevitably going to find a way to reside in the U.S. despite the tighter border control. Which will beg the question of by what means does illegal immigration damage or benefit the U.S. economy?…
