Gilgamesh PanHellenic Games were where you pitted one Greek city or state against another they could be from religious events, athletic events for the talented Greeks. They would happen every four years, for 5 days there would be peace for the duration of the games. All four games where at different places Elis, Delphi, Agros, Isthmus of Corinth. At the start of 776 B.C, Olympic games being the oldest of the four games. Significance is that they honored their Gods during the games as well as fighting to be the best for their city.

Greece was the first government which had a democratic government, creating a city-state government. Giving freedom to many cities to govern as they pleased, allowing it’s citizens excel in any field they pleased. However the two dominant civilizations in Greece were the Athens and Sparta. Both wanting to be the stronger and powerful cities of the two. Every rein comes to end someone will come around eventually being stronger. The golden age laid out the foundations of western civilization. The Golden Age during the time, Sparta and Athens became the most dominant city-states. As many people nobody wants to share the rein of being the best. In 431 B.C the Peloponnesian War started out lasting 27 years between the two. The golden war was a long and murderous war from both sides. They had conflicting aspirations and values so nothing could be talked about. Athens definitely overstepped, they should have known when to stop. Eventually Sparta won that war after all that
