Book Report On The Snow Star By Sharon Laferty
The Snow Star By Sharon Laferty From out of the blue and gold of a Christmas Eve sunset, comes Chrystalene. She was a snowflake, born in the clouds, as all snowflakes are. She began her journey, falling and spinning, with all the other little snowflakes on her way to the earth below. Chrystalene, however, was far too curious a being to simply drift along and wait to see where she would land. She began to look around her, peering at her fellow flakes, and noticing quickly, that she was not like them at all. Of course, no two snowflakes are alike and - bless their hearts - they know it. Snowflakes are, by nature, singular, beautiful, and very vain things. They love nothing better than to make a great deal of fuss and flutter where ever they go; …show more content…

You see, little snowflake, many years ago, on this night, The Christmas Star led three wise men across the desert to see their newborn king. The greatest king that ever lived! So great was this King that every year the whole world celebrates his birth. When the sun comes up tomorrow, it will be his birthday. It will be Christmas Day.” Chrystalene gazed in awe at the Christmas star. How wonderful would it be, she thought, to serve such a grand purpose; to guide someone to their King, or even just home? The overall structure and plot of the story plays a part in how Wolff viewed his own life within the characters. It opens with a simple yet intriguing statement: "Tub had been waiting for an hour in the falling snow" (Wolff 1). Immediately, this hook does its job drawing the reader into the story and making him wonder what is going on. In the same paragraph we find that Tub is walking down the street, carrying a rifle and seemingly, shooting the breeze. But then a car comes from nowhere, nearly killing Tub and forcing him to leap off the roadside. Inside the truck, Tub's friends, Kenny and Frank, wait laughing at the apparent "joke" that they had just played. Tub doesn't seem quite as amused, stating, "You could've killed me!" (Wolff 5). Then, the three friends begin to make their way towards the woods to go hunting for…

This essay is based on the world-wide classic dream fables, A Christmas Carol and the Young King. Winston Churchill once said, “Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection.” As the big day draws near, it is important to reflect on the roots of the global holiday as well as the direction in which it is heading. Christmas is a tradition rooted deep in the history of western society. It has undergone many changes since it’s earliest celebrations. Even today, the holiday is constantly changing. Each year brings new innovations to Christmas. In the dawn of the holiday, it was minor and focused on the birth of Jesus, the light of the world. In the 19th century, Christmas was a time of family and goodwill to mankind. It is a development that is not likely to go way any time soon.…
