This incident shows who this character really is and how all the rumours about him before were incorrect. After the trial about Tom Robinson, Atticus’ effort caused a racist named Bob Ewell to be very angered and frustrated because somebody had actually tried to defend an innocent African American. This soon leads to a strife between Bob and Atticus’ family. Bob Ewell eventually attacks Scout and Jem Finch causing Boo Radley to come out of hiding to kill Bob while attempting to save Scout and Jem. At the end of the book this incident shows who Boo Radley really is and how all those rumours about him are false. This also shows how much Boo Radley cares about a group of kids that he can call
