Book Review: The Magician’s Nephew
This is a book review on, ‘The Magician’s Nephew,’ which is the first book in the series of, ‘The Chronicles of Narnia,’ and is written by Clive Staples Lewis. This story takes place in London where two small kids named Digory and Polly are normally playing and enter into the room of Digory’s evil Uncle Andrew. Uncle Andrew tricked and sent Digory and Polly to the World Between World’s. There, Digory and Polly entered into another world and brought back an evil Queen that destroyed her world and planned to conquer and rule the Earth. C.S. Lewis has written a really good introduction to the world of Narnia and is a great fantasy creating different images in your mind while you read the book.
There are five important characters in, ‘The Magician’s Nephew,’ who are: Digory, Polly, Uncle Andrew, Queen Jadis and Aslan the Lion of Narnia. Throughout the story Digory and Polly are mostly together. Polly and Digory are both adventurous, but Polly is more careful and Digory isn’t smart and he takes risks. When Uncle Andrew is first introduced he is portrayed as an old man that is evil and later on becomes Queen Jadis’ slave when she is brought to London. Queen Jadis is an evil queen that destroyed her world because she thought that she’d be able to rule the world of Charn by doing that. Queen Jadis is very tall and beautiful, but very selfish, in other words she is a young witch. Polly, Digory, Uncle Andrew and a countryman successfully get rid of the witch, but they all enter into the world of Narnia. Aslan is the lion that created Narnia and is very wise. The story first sets in London where Digory and Polly are tricked into entering the world between worlds. The two children enter into the world of Charn where they awaken Queen Jadis and bring her back to earth. The Queen enters London, but the children and some
