The Alchemist encourages people to conform their Personal Legends, and to pursue their dream. Personal Legend means, that everyone has their ultimate goal in life, a type of ideal fate or destiny,Many people don of accomplishing it. However many people don’t get the chance to accomplish them. It is not easy to accomplish them because we get to cede great things in life and we get to encounter within the process, however as a result of the sacrificing and struggling we get to achieve greater happiness in life.
It tells us to take any risks and be able to accept new challenges and face our fears in life.
Conflicts: Santiago has many conflicts with fate, because of fate Santiago had become unlucky with many things and in the different place. Santiago had conflicts with his heart as well, because at first, they couldn't communicate with each other, they were not able to understand each other, and they have a different opinion of the path of life. An example is that Santiago had agreed with him-self to leave the Oasis to be able to get to the Pyramids of Egypt and find his treasure, but his heart wanted to stay at the Oasis so he could be with Fatima because he loves her. But at the end, the Alchemist shows the boy how to be able to communicate with his heart, and Santiago to be able to understand his heart and be able to agree with him.
