First of all, the proponents would like to thank our Almighty God for giving us the strength and knowledge in finalizing our project for our final requirement in Management Information System.

Abstract

Management Information System is tools designed to improve management decisions. It is systems that are efficient and methodical approach in collecting, storing and processing data that underlines what are the needs to be done in order to manage and handle the system effectively. This research study was conducted to have a concept on Library Management Information System to support the system of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa.

The main goal of the study is to develop a system that will manage and store the transaction of the library with the following specified objectives, (1) to come up with a suitable design of a Library Management Information System; (2) to develop a concept that would monitor the transactions on borrowing and returning books of students; and (3) to replace the manual system to improve the level of service inside the library.

Introduction
Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa is one of the admired public college in the province of Batangas. KLL provides a quality education for all qualified students. And also, one of the sources of knowledge of students is reading books. Books are stored in the library. In KLL, the library is using the manual system which the librarian uses index cards in borrowing and returning of books of students.

The proponents have conceptualized a system called the library management information system. This is a system that will be used by the librarians in KLL. Library management information system is a branch management information system that keeps the records of both library users, books in the library and the activites like borrowing and returning books. The study focuses on borrowing and returning process of the books.
In this system, the library management becomes more efficient and easier to handle with its reliable sytem components. It will replace the traditional system of the library wherein the students have to fill up index cards in order to borrow books. The library management system is an alternative way on the borrowing and returning process inside the library. It will lessen the work of the librarian.

Background of the project
In such colleges, reading materials like books are stored in libraries. The library is a place in w/c books, magazines, news paper and other related materials are kept for use but not for sale.
Library is a place wherein we can get information in any format and from many sources. The librarian is the one who organized and maintained the books in order. The librarian has to keep the room meat so that it is easy for the students to learn. The librarian is also the person whois liable for monitoring all the books that are borrowed and returned by the borrowers.
The proponents proposes to use the library management information system which will improve the Library’s Borrowing and returning book system for KLL that are still using a manual system. With the use of this system, the student and the librarian will no longer use index card for the records of borrowed and returned books.
