Attachment is seen to make and help build relationships with the main care giver for the child. Fraiberg (1959) writes; that is an achievement to build a bond as it helps human evolution. Bonding refers to as an adult’s affection for the infant. When a child can sense the attachment it will give them a sense of warmth, caring and love. Papalia at al (1999) considers an enduring relationship between infant and care giver helps to build a quality relationship between the two. Gearity (2005) if a strong attachment is made between the mother and infant is a basic goal that will help to build a foundation for a healthy relationship with the infant but also others around them. The EYFS plays a large part in attachment and the holistic development of the child. When child start a nursery or attend day care they are given a key worker which they will see every day and will build an emotional bond with them. The child will then feel more at ease when attending day care as the key worker would have form an attachment between them. Also the child maybe shy and find it hard to interact with other peers around them.
