Boy Scouts Personal Statement
Chaos defines our world. It is found in nature, language, scripture, art, mathematics, science, astronomy, and every other part of what we know today. It is only in our nature that we respond to the mayhem with an attempt to study it and gain a deeper understanding of the world we occupy. From this examination, we have derived language, religion, science, mathematics, art, and culture. This is the central link between my favorite three topics to discuss, film, science, and math. Each are attempts to analyze the world around us and generate meaning for ourselves. Through film, math, and science and my other endeavors, I have been able to create meaning for my life and create my own goals that I hope to achieve by attending college. I have been involved in Scouts for 10 years. I started as a tiger cub in Pack 135. Because of the support I have gotten from those around me, I have persevered through the years and ranks to Life Scout in Troop 135. In fact, I am about 2 months away from achieving the highly regarded rank of Eagle Scout. My involvement has given me many amazing experiences, cherished memories, and lifelong friends. Through the Scouting program I have been able to develop leadership skills in the role of Senior Patrol Leader, lead a crew on the Out Island Adventure in Florida, and learn about a wide variety of topics including horsemanship, space exploration, engineering, nuclear science and many more. I am especially grateful to have been given the opportunity to lead my fellow peers through a variety of scenarios, which seems to be a skill neglected nowadays. Through Beta Club and NHS, I have begun to become more involved with the amazing community I have around me and give back to those who have helped nurture my growth. I plan to stay involved in both Scouts and my community as I grow older because of the experiences I have had in these

Every year the camp brought in a great group of girls. Having been chosen for officer positions and a starguider among those girls truly made it an honor. I value being highly regarded for my leadership in a place I love so much. Every year as I returned home from camp I tried to keep the same mind set as I had there, one of leadership. This is when I discovered that I did not need a title to be a leader. I could be a leader in everyday life by my…

    NJROTC Reflective Report

During high school, I committed most of my free time to my NJROTC unit and my 4-H club. In both of these organizations, community service, leadership, citizenship, and initiative are indispensable values that are essential to their functioning, and I like to think I have learned to embody these traits. In 4-H, I have attended, and then went on to teach, numerous leadership and group trainings. In NJROTC, I attended the Area 5 Leadership Academy, graduated as the Second Honor Cadet of the 2014 Academy, and was selected to be an Aide for the 2015 Academy. I held, or currently hold, leadership positions in both organizations and I feel I set a good example for my peers and subordinates. Through any task, I am enthusiastic about my job and…

I would write my opinion to majority because in the Boy scouts V. Dale case, i disagree to the majority about violating the law of Boy Scout's. There are many opponents of gay people as it is, and they all have their reasons to dislike the idea of letting them get elected . One of the main reasons is that the primary purpose of leadership is the right way to lead other people. The Boy Scouts seek to give values to young people by doing activities like: camping, fishing, and during this whole time the Scoutmasters conduct them with Boy Scouts values, so this is also one positive argument, because if a scoutmaster is homosexual that doesn't mean that he will teach the youth about…

“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.” Ronald Reagan’s words provide me with a vision and the motivation to serve others by equipping them with the tools needed to reach their full potential. I have always worked hard as a leader to inspire others. I understand that I must be bold enough to have my own vision but humble enough to recognize achieving it will take the efforts of many people. I believe that we must work to together to keep America strong and ensure freedom for future generations, and I believe this is done through great leaders. The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State provides young women like me a deeper understanding…

From there, I hope to study to be accepted into medical school and specialize in pediatrics. When preparing for medical school, the advice one hears are to become a well-rounded student. Through my DECA experiences I have been able to develop leadership skills that will help me thrive in my future. Over the three years I have been involved, I have stepped out my comfort zone and made a difference in my local DECA chapter, community, and my future. Now taking the responsibility of being a DECA officer, as the chapter president, has allowed me to continue to grow and develop my leadership, communication, and social skills. Working with the Milan DECA Chapter members has proven how difficult and enjoyable being a leader is. At times leading so many events can be stressful; however, the completion of the events pushes me further. In order to reach the goal of becoming ‘well-rounded’, I used DECA skills to organize my time to join other extracurriculars within my community. Along with DECA, I participate in 4-H which is a non-profit organization in counties all across the nation that prepares youth to make a positive impact on their communities. Furthermore, I lead my 4-H club in a Relay For Life team through the American Cancer Society. Additionally, I am a dedicated musician, drum major, and the first Milan High School Flute Choir Director. I am an active participant in the peer education program at Milan High School. I am so thankful for the opportunities to be a leader within my class, school, community, county, and…

It was just a cold normal winter day. But not for me, today was the day I would be organizing people to go around collecting books from my neighborhood and in the end, getting over 3,000 books. I was as excited as a little boy on Christmas. I woke up early to get all the delicious treats ready for the helpers, they would be coming over soon. I was getting nervous. This operation would be happening all from my garage. My fellow boy scouts would come excited and willing to help me out. As soon as people started arriving I maintained a calm state. I tried to stay professional and give them useful tips on how to collect the books. Overall just about 20 people came to help me out in my eagle scout project, which was a lot more than I needed as I…

Nearing the end of my road to the Eagle Scout award I am finding that my purpose in life is becoming more clear. Through scouts and the other activities that I have surrounded myself with, I have come to realize that I want to be a leader. In the leadership positions I have held I have picked up so many skills that I am going to use in my life. I don’t just want to be one type of leader though. All throughout school I have participated in many clubs and organizations that have not only molded me as a person, but have helped me to develop responsibility, and leadership skills. Currently I am an active member of National Honor Society, and DECA. Both of these organizations, provided by my high school, encourage leadership, volunteer work, and have high expectations for behavior, and grades. Being in National Honor Society has shown me to continually do for others in need. There are always opportunities to get involved with the community, and even create drives for things like stuffed animals, and blankets for children who are sick in the hospital, and “Care Catties” for cancer patients, which include tissues, water bottles, hard candy, and lotion. DECA is another organization I am involved in at Frenship High School. DECA is a business organization for high school marketing students looking to learn, develop and compete in a competitive event. I have been a member since my sophomore…
