Brain Connotation

“What your body looks like has nothing to do with how your brain works!” (Draper 152).

The denotation is that your body has no connection to do with how your brain functions or works. The connotation is that her body may be limited but it has nothing to do with her brain and how it works she still can think and process things like a regular person but her body limits her.

“If Melody Brooks can win the first round, then my questions must not be difficult enough” (Draper 155)

The denotation is that if Melody can win the first round the they question weren’t hard enough. The connotation is that if Melody that has an illness with limits only her physical capabilities can win the first round of questions then the questions must not be hard enough.
