Breast Cancer Informative Speech
Studies show, “Breast cancer is the second most common newly diagnosed cancer and second leading cause of cancer deaths among women in the US.” It is sad that something us women wear in pride and cherish is killing us day by day. Who would have thought, a single lump in your breast could take your life in a blink of an eye. A life greatly spent, memories worth keeping close to my heart, breast cancer took you too soon, but we will never be apart. Nevertheless, if I remember correctly it was an early Saturday morning when a phone call woke everyone in the house up like a school bell when class is out. My parents jumped out of bed and rushed down the stairs to the door like a bunch of crazy lions trying to catch its prey. We all knew something had to be wrong but they …show more content…

“It’s your mom, is everyone ok?” Mom says
“Yes, everyone is fine, where are you guys you rushed out this morning. We were worried!”
“We’re fine sweetie, were at the hospital with your grandmother.”
“The hospital, why what is going on?”
“I don’t know how to say this my loves but your grandmother is dying slowly she is a vegetable now.”
“What does that mean mom?”
“She has no more life in her, she’s breathing off a machine. We have to say our last goodbyes. Now I have to go baby, we love you guys, and she loves you. Pray for her and keep her in your hearts.”
My heart dropped out of my chest as I dropped to the floor screaming and crying. Honestly, that had to be the worst phone call a kid could receive. Not only did cancer take a mother but it also took a wife and a grandmother with a family that cherish her loved her wellbeing. I remember her voice when she started to get sick, she tried her best to hide it from everyone. But I could tell something was wrong, because of the lethargic look in her eyes. I would always tell her every time I seen her, “I love you to the moon and back” and her response would be “I would travel there every day just to find your
