Hand tools in brick woorks : 1. Brick Trowel

2. Plastering Trowel. Image | Function | | A trowel used to spread and smooth plaster trowel - a small hand tool with a handle and flat metal blade; used for scooping or spreading plaster or similar materials |
3. Pointing Trowel. Image | Function | | This is a small trowel used for fi lling in the joints of brickwork or blockwork. The process offi lling in the joints is called pointing.This trowel is similar in shape to a bricklayer’s trowel but approximately 150mm long and itdoes not have a tempered edge for cutting bricks. |
4. Corner Trowel. Image | Function | | V-shaped, this tool is made to fit the inside of a corner joint and apply joint compound there. The drywall corner trowel, for feathering and tapering joints, is made with a somewhat flexible angle. |
5. Line and Pin. Image | Function | | All walls over 1.2m long should be built with the aid of lines and pins. The lines are typically made from nylon etc., but not too thick, and the pins should be made of steeland stout-bladed.The line is wound onto the pins and made secure by tying a half hitch where the shankmeets the blade.When a bricklayer’s line breaks, it should not be tied with a knot. Instead, the ends shouldbe joined together by splicing, because knots in the line
