The Movie “Bride for Rent” is a classic tale of fake love and fake marriage that was turned into something real unexpectedly. It is about a man who does not believe in true love and marriage and forced to get married when he was locked out of his personal trust funds and could not pay his debt. He held an audition for a role to be his fake wife until he gets his trust funds, but unfortunately, his grandmother suspected that his grandson’s civil marriage was just a fake, and affiliated with his fake wife to teach her grand son a lesson. In the end of the story, what turned out to be fake gradually became real and the man who does not believe in true love and marriage started to believe in it. The story is not only about their love story, but it also explained how marriages work and the essence of it. Marriage is a "covenant by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring", and which "has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament between the baptized." Being married is a serious matter and it takes two lovers to make it work.
This movie is probably one of the best Filipino movies I have watched. I even watched it 5 times and the moral of the story still gets me every time. I will not forget to always believe in marriage and to have patience in waiting to God’s perfect time. Also, I have learned the magic of true love and how it could change someone.
