Ben Hall and Maguire may have divided the property and operated independently of each other, as in John McGuire's narrative, 'The Biography of a Reliable Old Native', Maguire states that Ben Hall reputedly named his portion 'Cubbine Bin', running his own cattle and horses, and when required the two men worked together in clearing and forming stockyards close to their water supply, this would have been a prudent way to operate a new farming enterprise in the 1860’s, and thus the two squatters shared the yearly rent to the government, as for the acquiring of stock for this new enterprise, John Maguire states that Ben Hall and himself had done a bit of duffing, Maguire…

In order to delineate the notional structure for The Velveteen Rabbit, one must first assess the correct discourse type. In reviewing the narrative, procedural, behavioral, and expository discourse types, The Velveteen Rabbit is undeniably a narrative discourse in surface and notional structure. The plot or notional structure of the story provides insights into what one would imagine is a toy's ultimate dream of being loved and becoming real. The story begins with the phrase, "There was once a velveteen rabbit, and in the beginning he was really splendid." This sentence is an example of a formulaic aperture. This narrative discourse takes us from its introduction as a new toy stuffed in a stocking on Christmas morning through an early period in a boy's adolescence as seen through the eyes of a toy rabbit made of velveteen.…

I strongly believe that if one is to be successful in society, setting goals and prioritizing them is very crucial. Having your goals set and prioritizing them does not only give you a clear focus on things you have to do, but it helps you to organize your plans so that you can set time limit and boundaries in achieving those goals. There are so many goals that I want to achieve my life. Since goals can only be achieved if they are realistic, timing and attainable, I have categorized my goals into long and short term goals.…
There is much more to the world than meets the eye. In the short stories “How to Talk to Girls at Parties” by Neil Gaiman and “Gryphon” by Charles Baxter, two young boys have experiences that will change the way they view life forever. Enn, from the story by Gaiman, is an awkward teenager who afraid of girls but is talked into attending a party anyway by his friend Vic. Tommy, from “Gryphon,” is a typical fourth grader in a very atypical situation. In both stories, eccentric female characters spark and ignite the changes that the boys need to come of age. Enn and Tommy grow as characters and discover that adults do not always have the answers, that new experiences are crucial, and to be accepting of all ideas no matter how foreign.…

The novel begins with Huck Finn introducing himself and referencing The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. "You don't know about me," Huck narrates, "without you have read a book by the name of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," but that ain't no matter." He tells readers that, for the most part, Twain told the truth in Tom Sawyer but that everyone tells some lies, even people like Aunt Polly and the Widow Douglas.…
Purchasing a new car can be a gamble. There are many factors that play part in a car buyer’s decision. Take for instance a 2010 Ford Fusion and 2010 Honda Civic. Both are great cars, and will most likely be worth every penny a person puts in to one of them. But, taking into consideration, gas mileage, features, and price, which would be the better buy?…
The conclusion for my senior project is the ending for my senior project hours, but thankfully the experience didn't change. As promised, my work hours before I had graduate were completed. There were times when, I had use the cash register on my own, get my work place cleaned, and having to get the specific food item the customer wanted/ordered. When I did make a mistake, my mentor, Laneve, helped me fix my mistakes. After that I learned how to use the cash register on my own, but once in awhile i ask for help for a specific food item number. When I worked in the student store, I had to figure out how to use the cash register, and figure out what number of each food product had. I had to figure out my time schedule…
