Bring Your Own Device Essay

Gregory Dawson’s Faculty Lecture focused on the aspects of technology not only pertaining to the field of business, but also on how technology is vital to “enjoying life”. Technology has been used, in the upcoming generations especially, for essentially everything. Whether it be used for responding to someone that lives in another country, checking the status of traumatic events in the news, or the trends that are popular at that very moment, technology is the playmaker of it all. Thus, making technology relevant to every major one pursues in life because as long as technology continues to grow, it’ll be used into every aspect of anyone’s life. With technology being so pertinent to this thriving and successful world, there comes benefits. One of the most significant advantages of technology is “BYOD”, meaning Bring Your Own Device. BYOD not only promotes employees and students to have personal access to the internet at the palm of their hands, but it also makes everything affordable because the company and schools aren’t spending their own money providing said devices to each individual. That realization frightened me the most, but also compelled me to do much more than just get a general understanding of the Computer Information Systems course I’m currently
