In the story “The Last Dog” far in the future a teenager named Brock goes outside of a dome that most people stayed in because they said the outside was dangerous. Brock left the dome to go explore and while he was out he found a dog which was the last dog on earth. He took the dog back to the dome, but the scientists said they were going to do experiments on it. He pretended like the dog had rabies and brought it back outside to run free. I liked the story because he followed his instinct like a real world situation. People in the dome told brock to not go out and that it’s dangerous but his instinct told him to. He ended up finding the last dog on earth.
During the story, he decided to leave the dome in the first place before anyone told him because he knew something would be out there. Such as when he found the dog. After Brock found the dog he realized how much he liked it. He had a love for the dog like no one else in the dome did. When he heard that the scientists were going to do experiments on it he automatically knew that he couldn’t let it happen. They were all born from test tubes and all of the rooms looked the same. If Brock hadn’t questioned what they were telling him or followed his instinct he would have still been like everyone else. Brock never would have experienced the love that he did for the dog. The dog’s name was Brog. He named it after him but didn’t want it to be exactly the same. Since it’s a dog and his names Brock he named it
