Bronfrenbrenner's Influence On Child Development
Blakemore and Frith (2005) page state that a child’s brains motor complex, which controls hand and finger coordination, is not fully developed until a child is at least five years old, they add that this development rate is slower in boys.
Therefore, this allows time for practitioners to ensure a child has the skills and confidence in their own mark making, experiencing all routes. Early mark making is different from writing. It is an experience for babies and toddlers which is physical and sensory, which the children themselves do not associate with writing.
The development steps a child progresses through stated in the Early Years Foundation Stage: Development Maters allow them to experience opportunities giving them a foundation of knowledge.

Bronfenbrenner (1979) created the ideology of ecological systems, it identifies the 5 environmental systems that affect an individual. The first level is the Microsystem, this is the system closet to a child, it involves subjects such as home, school, family, friends and teachers, this is the most influential level. Bronfrenbrenner's theory highlights how unique each child is as it is not only the inner being as a child, but also each child has their own surrounding system that is entirely specific to them, affecting their abilities and development, making it necessary for early years educators to be able to adapt their teachings to fit each child's …show more content…
Carruthers and Worthington believed that a child’s own representation of mathematical graphics supported their methodology of thinking about the mathematics in which they are engaged with, and how they use symbols and other visual representations to signify mathematical meanings. A child’s use of mathematical representation enables them to build on their own knowledge and understanding.
Reflecting on this article it is clear to see the importance of Mathematical representation in children’s early mark making, the support a validation that practitioners give to children in response to a piece of work are a foundation to child’s ability to go on to learn more.

    Early Years Foundation Stage has 7 areas of learning however these areas are divided into two groups the prime and specific areas. The prime areas; these areas are very crucial in forming the foundation of the children's learning and forming relationships. The specific areas; these are the areas through which the prime ares are strengthened and applied. These are: .Literacy; .Mathematics; .Understanding the world; and .Expressive arts and design.
