Brothers In Arms Sparknotes

The title of this book is called Brothers in arms. A brother in arms was published on January 1st, 2004. Paul langan and Ben alirez wrote this book. The author brings out this book, because he tells every detail about what’s going to happen and what they’re going to say. A brother in arms is science fiction. This book is really exciting that you will not be able to stop reading it until you finish it all the way. It just makes you want to dive in deeper. The book takes place in California in a school named Bluford high school. This Bluford high school is really big with some nice students, and very nice teachers. Some students that go there are martin Luna, Steve Morris, Clarence (Steve’s buddy), Vicky Teresa, and others students. The main characters are Frankie Pacheco, martin Luna, Steve Morris, and then Huero. Martin Luna is a very young student, who has a lot of things going on right now, ever since his little brother Huero
died that was from a shooting two months ago. Ever since his brother’s death, martin has been getting into a lot of trouble, and getting into a lot of fights with Steve. When martins mad at someone for example his mom’s friend Imelda (cop) he yelled at him. Once he yelled at him and said “why don’t you worry about the dude who shot my brother, and leave my friends out of this” “they aren’t the problem”. He is aggressive to the point where he almost slapped his own mother. Steve Morris is a kid who love to pick on other kids that are younger than him, and don’t do anything to him. Whenever someone gets in his way he acts like a bully, he only likes it when they call him great and smart. Frankie Pacheco on the other hand, is martin Luna’s friend, who always gets into trouble, and doesn’t listen to anyone. Frankie has a scar on his left cheek because he got into a fight with another kid that got in his way. Huero is martins little brother who loved him very much that he would follow him where ever he went. Huero always looked up to martin, because martin was his hero he loved him like he was a puppy that you could never give away. This all changed when Huero got shot trying to save martin from getting run over by a car. Huero never did anything wrong but to hang out with his big brother. Martin always pushed Huero away because he did not want him to be with him and his friends when they were trying to get girls numbers. Martin meant that much to him, that he had to save him.
Some of these characters change throughout the book.
Martin Luna for example has not changed throughout the book; he is still kind of aggressive especially to Steve Morris. The thing that he wants to change was the day that his brother got shot. Martin now wants revenge. Steve changed a lot more, by getting even meaner. Steve wants to hurt martin to the point where he can’t stand to look at his face anymore.Steve thinks that he’s tougher than everyone. Frankie also changed throughout the book, where he wants to kill martin. In the beginning of the book Frankie was all nice, but then he got violent at the end. Huero martins little brother never got to change because he got killed by Frankie’s other friend. Huero was martins little hero, because he was brave enough to go in front of the car to protect his brother. Huero was only eight when this happened. Huero was a sweet little boy, who did nothing wrong but to just want to hang out with his older brother martin and his friends. Huero wanted to be just like his brother when he grew
up.
This book is basically about a young sixteen year old who wants revenge on someone who took his little brothers life in a shooting two months ago, his name is martin Luna. Martin does get into trouble at school because he’s too busy thinking about the person who killed his brother. Martin finally figures out who killed his brother and it was Frankie. What I did like about this book was when Huero wanted to hang out with his brother and his friends, and share some gum with them it was really adorable. The part that I did not like about the book was when Huero got shot he was only eight but in his brothers arms.
