Bruce Lee
Bruce Lee: Martial Artist Actor With a fast flurry of kicks and punches you would be down in almost less than a minute. He was the type of person you wouldn’t want to meet on the streets and/or threaten or anger. By using his special techniques he was known as one of the top champions who competed in many martial arts tournaments. His fast movements could startle you as you would have no choice, but to awe in utter amazement as you helplessly watched bodies fly. Who is this incredible man who could strike you so quickly and painfully hard that you wouldn’t even have the chance to know what hit you? The slow mutter of this man’s name could send chills up your spine. His name is Bruce Lee, also known as the Dragon Martial Artist. Born on November 27, 1940 (Year of the Dragon) in San Francisco, California Lee Jun Fan (nicknamed Bruce suggested by the hospital staff) was the son of Grace Ho (mother) and Lee Hoi-Chuen (father). By the time he was there months old, Bruce was already on his early career path when he appeared briefly in a Chinese film being shot in San Francisco. Soon at age eight he played his second role with his new nick name Lee Siu Lung meaning Lee Little Dragon. Lee wasn’t really the one for school as he spent most of his younger days as a member of the many street gangs and movies. By the time he had turned eighteen he had been in twenty films with one of the films (The Orphan) being his first starring role. After his mother agreed to let Bruce take martial arts to learn self-defense, he was soon developing his love for the martial arts. His teacher’s name was the international grandfather Yip Man who taught him everything he needed to know such as the art of Wing Chun (similar to Gung-Fu). With his new fiery passion for the arts he would walk down the streets and scare the daylights out of people with his sudden launches of punches and kicks. Not so long after joining Yip Man’s school he tested his prowess by taking any challenger who he

Born in England to an aristocratic family, Lee had already joined the army at the age of 12, and in the 1750 's was sent to colonial America to fight in the French and Indian War (also known as the Seven Years War). It was here that he first served with the man who would be his superior officer later in life, General George Washington. Together they survived the bloody disaster of Major General Edward Braddock 's defeat at the hands of the French Canadians and Indians in 1755 (American History Suite 101) at the Monongahela River at the forks with the Allegheny and Ohio Rivers near modern Pittsburgh (Fort Pitt) in the Battle of Monongahela (British Battles). Not only was it here that Charles Lee first came into contact with George Washington, it was also Washington’s first defeat, which probably leads to Lee’s treason later on. Why this happens is because Lee was arrogant and ugly, and felt he was a better General overall than to his superior George Washington.…

Weapons Training by Bruce Dawe shows us the realities of war. It is a drill sergeant speaking to his new recruits. The poem starts in the middle of a sentence, giving the impression that we might have fallen asleep like one of the young recruits being shouted at. It serves to catch our attention. Note the use of spaces and pauses: these show a dramatic monologue, because they are natural spaces to take breath. Dramatic monologues give insight into the speaker, their situation, and the people around the speaker and their reactions. "Pitter-patter" is normally a gentle sound, but in this situation it is made to sound harsh. "Are you a queer?" This question reflects the tone of the whole poem: to be called a "queer" is clearly insulting to these men. Also is the start of a whole string of insults littered through the monologue, delivered in a blunt, confronting tone. The poem is full of crude sexual references: "Cockpit drill" and "crown jewels", for example. "Mob of the little yellows" - the sergeant dehumanises the enemy by making a racist comment, making it easier for the soldiers to kill them (if they're not really people, it doesn't matter if they die). "Turning the key in the ignition", apart from being a reference to sex, serves to give the soldiers hope by reminding them of coming back home. They are conscript soldiers and not used to the strict discipline of the Army; the sergeant must show his authority to impress into them the necessity of listening to him: it's the only hope they've got of staying alive. He drops back into dramatic monologue, using "you" all the way because in the end it will be up to the individual soldiers to determine what happens to them. "Charlies" is a racist name given to the Viet Cong. At every opportunity he degrades the enemy: "rotten fish-sauce breath" Dawe shows the realities of war: "alive one moment, dead the next". "too late ... your tripes are round your neck ...…

In the 1964 Long Beach International Karate Championships, Bruce Lee performed the One Inch Punch. Bruce stood upright, his right foot forward with knees bent slightly, in front of a standing, stationary partner. Lee's right arm was partly extended and his right fist approximately an inch away from the partner's chest. Without retracting his right arm, Lee then forcibly delivered the punch to his partner while largely maintaining his posture, sending the partner backwards and falling into a chair said to be placed behind the partner to prevent injury, though the force of gravity caused his partner to soon after fall onto the floor.…

I’d defend them and I hate seeing the boys with other girls I mean I’m ok with Liam and Louis’ girls though but I really hate Zayn and Perrie I don’t even know why and I despise it when Harry goes out with Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner and basically everyone because well if you didn’t know I’m in love with him and nobody’s good enough for him.…
