Becoming part of this group was tough, nobody knew each other. This was just something the gym wanted to put together so it can encourage other members of the gym to attend the Zumba classes. In this stage, the group start to resolve their differences and learn to respect each other as a whole. The individuals started to realize their strengths and respect for each other. Everyone started to know one another better and socialize together. Constructive feedback was provided. The group felt comfortable asking each other for feedback. During this stage we developed a stronger commitment to the team goal. When this happened we notice progress. When we were on this stage, we took advantage of the opportunity because we worked on team building and setting goals. The team instructor helped establish group norms by providing the right amount of training, feedback, attention and commitment to the group.
Conclusion
Without noticing my dance group experienced every developmental stage there was. We went from not being comfortable around each other to talking to each other on a daily basis. The most instrumental in the group’s failure would have to be storming stage because we almost failed. This group has taught me self-confidence and social skills.
