The classical motifs are continued even in this polychromatic, festive space, with green-and-blue Ionic pilasters decorating the space above coffered eaves decorated with floral reliefs and bearing lanterns that flood the floor of the room with light, adding to the extravagance. The room itself is a spectacle, reflecting the prosperity and excitement of the period in which the building was designed, as Melbourne flourished and expanded and became more and more of a cultural and civic hub with the influx of money and people provided by the Gold Rush and continuing settlement; the vivid colours and ornamentation represent and emphasise the pride taken in the city of Fitzroy by its residents and the new…

At first, Frank and Berta Gehry bought a small pink house in 1920, the house must be remodelled in the limited budget. Therefore, the first remodel was used the normal materials such as corrugated metal, chain link and raw wood frame which aimed to show both old and new elements. Moreover, Gerry reshape the wood structures and made it free from its original, whereas the old house still remained visible in it. It has stripped down the plaster coating to reveal the framing, the joists and studs are uncovering in some places. Above the north-facing kitchen, a dipped glass cube built between the outside of the new and the old, internally, the window was made by wry cube in the dining room. The piece is a small bedroom with doors in the middle of the left and right walls and a bay window on the wall directly in front of the viewer. These three walls are the only ones visible; one will see the room as if they were standing against the fourth wall. The walls are pale sea foam blue with the doors a contrasting darker smoky teal. The floor seems to be one piece with the slightest outline of hunter green to identify planks or tiles in the front right hand corner of the piece. The color of this floor is that of an old penny, a faded red with hints of orange with notes of deep sienna. The left wall bears a chair in front of the left door; this chair is a dark yellow kitchen chair with a darker mint green seat. Also hanging on the wall is a black non-descript hook containing a dark mint green towel. This towel bears a dark red trim creating a green margin on the end of this towel. Caddy corner to the left wall and the wall directly in front of the viewer is an orange washstand; this washstand holds a light blue decanter possibly made from class, this decanter is accompanied by a matching drinking glass. A wash basin and pitcher also accompany the decanter; the pair matches the smoky blue of the doors. A light brown, possibly pine toiletry box rests on top of the wash basin. On the far left of the wall…

Upon reaching the basement the first thing which attracts the person is the Reception with custom designed table supported by the vintage wrought iron partition on both the sides with the Marsala coloured lacquered panel clad on the wall at the backdrop which invokes a sense of impenetrable liveliness. The Waiting at the back has a very interesting setup of couches & undulating fixed seats with geometric shaped centre tables in a cluster pattern. Marsala has been chosen for the reason of its resemblance to the colour of blood, new life, a new beginning. Contrary to the exteriors less of the bright Marsala has been used, instead, the whole setup has hues & tints of neutral shades of Greys, Beiges & Off-white with a patch of Marsala to break the mundaneness. After a lot of spatial explorations and trying various permutations for the relationship between spaces; the basement level was evolved as a series of aligned spaces to avoid the rabbit-warren type configurationally arrangement of consultancy rooms on one side and an administrative section on the other…
