The Ohio Buckeye is best suited for native or open areas. Buckeyes are not typically good street trees and are not recommended to be planted close to homes because of litter from twigs, leaves, and fruit. The broad canopy makes the tree ideal for open areas. The tree is best suited for open areas, like parks, but due to its natural habitat it can be grown in woodland type settings. In wooded areas the Buckeye is found in Beech-Sugar-Maple woods and can grow with any plant that grows in wet
