b. Why did you choose this person? We chose Brian because he is a hard working family man. He has a humorous and unique personality that sets him apart from most individuals. Brian attended Jeffersonville High School and dropped out. School was less important to individuals in the 1990’s with a 36% drop out rate. That didn’t stop Brian from having a successful career and lifestyle. Brian comes from a big family that consists of 13 other siblings. He grew up with strong morals and great father for a role model. Brian is a hands on learning man. He excels in various fields such as mechanic, construction, and engineering. He is an all-around handy man from working on his vehicles and tractors, to building houses, and furnishing them. Brian has six kids ranging from 21
How did they choose their respective industry, business, location, etc.
His peers and family is why Brian chose his career. He started young and had his younger brother work for him. Then when one of his other brothers returned from the Green Beret he also went into the construction business and lives next door at a house he built on his own. The location Brian does his business depends on the company he builds for that his younger brother helped him get the gig.
3. Advice to a budding entrepreneur
a. What are the advantages and disadvantages of owning a business?
The advantages are being able to come home when he wants to spend time with his family. There is always money to make depending on how much you want to work. The disadvantages are that everything falls back on him and dealing with workers can be like dealing with a bunch of kids at times.
b. What advice would he or she offer to someone considering launching a business?
Be prepared to work hard and long hours.
c. Given everything they know about the business, would they do it again?
Yes he would because of the benefits he receives from owning his own company and working for himself. He can always make more money by choosing to work
