In the song Buju speaks about the countless difficulties these poverty stricken people go through on a daily basis. He also speaks about opportunity which he describes as “a scarce commodity”. He urges the children who are growing up in these circumstances to not waste their opportunity to get a good education and become something in life.
He also speaks on how the people in positions of authority seem not to care about the everyday plight of the normal man. The leaders seem to ignore the daily struggles these people go through. There is a direct connection between the title of the song and the way the plight of the poverty stricken seems to be forgotten by the leaders. self-explanatory http://www.jango.com/music/Buju+Banton?l=0
