All bullets are named by their size or diameter, these are called calibers. Calibers are the American way of measurement, in other terms, not metric. Calibers are important because if you put a 12 gauge shot gun bullet into a 20 gauge shotgun, then if you shoot the slug will get stuck in the barrel, then when you put in a 20 gauge shot gun, the bullet will hit the other 12 gauge bullet and it will blow up in your face causing severe damage.
