Introduction: "Stand by Me" is a coming-of-age movie directed by Rob Reiner. It is about four young boys who go on a journey to find a dead body, but instead find more than a dead body which includes how a friendship between Chris Chambers and Gordie Lachance have developed. This movie conveys an inspiring message about strong friendship.
1st Paragraph: At the beginning of the film, it seems like Chris Chambers is physically strong dauntlessly valiant, while on the other hand Gordie Lachance is weak, quiet and sensitive. In the hat scene, a local gang leader who is also a criminal takes Gordie's hat that his dead brother gave him. Chris fearlessly stands up to the bully and this indicates how strong and brave Chris is.
We see Gordie is sensitive when he fired the gun by accident and gets really mad about it. "I'm no good. My dad said it. Im no good." According to what Gordie said to Chris, this is considered weak because if he was a strong-minded boy he would've done anything to impress he's dad.
2nd Paragraph: As the movie progresses, Gordie and Chris's friendship developed becoming stronger and better. We see this in the leech scene when Gordie finds a leech inside of his underwear and calls Chris's name. This tells us about the brotherhood between Gordie and Chris, knowing that one of them will always be there when one of them is in need. We also see in the "You're not taking him" scene when Ace pulls out a knife on Chris and Gordie stands up for Chris. This shows how the friendship between Gordie and Chris has developed with Chris bringing up Gordie's confidence.
3rd Paragraph: As we see earlier in the movie when Chris stood up for Gordie and at the end when Gordie stands up for Chris. This shows us how the friendship between Gordie and Chris has developed and the massive influence that Chris has on Gordie. Chris basically brought up Gordie's confidence, making him mentally strong and setting an example that falling down is part of life and getting back up is living. Chris also acted like Gordie's dad by advising him and having his back.
