This is regarding two incidents happened with me in work place on 17th & 18th November. Both shifts where at CTN and timings 16:00-01:00.

Bullying: Earlier in this month I, Mehmood and Rafael had a conversation about working in T4 and Mehmood asked me for reason not working in T4 till date I told him I didn't get a chance to work there because I work in T2 on fixed shifts. He started saying that " your people are more in T4 and you have to work there once, do you think that you won't get along with them"?. I told him that I have very good friends working there but he didn't stop the conversation. " I think you people don't like to work with your people".

I was offended and told him there is no need for that. Adding to it, on 18th November I went to back room for arranging books, Rafael was taking stock to Pier-d. Suddenly Mehmood started saying " Tell me Uma why you don't want to work in T4"?. I clearly mentioned him that I was hired for T2, If they need me I am ready to do in T4. He started saying same words as I earlier mentioned, I was not interested in conversation and I left the room. After 20 minutes I asked him that we will decide who will do how many tills. At that point in time, we were expecting Eric as 8'O' clock person. He mentioned that he won't be able to do Tills because he will take too long to do it, then he told me Eric will help you with Tills, I told him Eric did tills only once it's too hard for him to handle money. He started saying" That's alright Uma, Asians are good at math". I was shocked by his reply and offended told him not to say a word like that which is differentiating and we all are human beings. He started explaining " I meant to say that you guys are good at math, maximum Asian do only accounting and IT stuff". There are a lot of things happening in the shift, I don't want to lose my cool in the peak time of business hours. I was normal with him to run the shift he gave me really very hard time throughout the shift. Around 12:30 Am me and Antony started counting Tills and He started making …show more content…

I started my shift at 7:15 am. My work clothes are comfortable and unrestrictive; my footwear is flat, sensible and offers protection to my feet and ankles. When I arrive to the service user’s home, I knock on the door and wait to be let in either by one of the service user’s or by a work colleague. Once inside I greet the service user, if they are awake. I then head to the sleep in room, to start verbal handover with my work colleague. After the 15 minute handover, I then check and sign the handover sheet. Check the on call rota, should there be an incident or or accident. Also check the communication book and also check any money and medication, then checking the activity planner. Once the service user wakes, we say hello to each other, and chat for a short period. I encourage them to start their personal care. After, I ask them if they need any support with getting dressed and preparing breakast. The time is now 8:00 so I administrer the morning medication. I always wash my hands before handling food or medication and after assisting with any personal care. After the service user has had their breakfast. I support them with the washing up. I will then encourage the service user to clean their property. I will then support the indiviual in safely cleaning, all ares with correct products. After this I consult with the service user, about their activity plan for the day, if the service user decided to go into town. I ask them how they would prefer to travel, by bus or by personal car.…

Bullying in the workplace seems to be on the rise. It certainly attracts much more attention in the media. There may be some very good reasons for why this destructive phenomenon is on the increase. With an economy that had the bottom drop out, job security is almost non-existent. Bullying is a phenomenon of unequal power. One member has power over another. This differential increases as job security drops. Rather than negotiating differences of opinion, the member with the greatest power can now impose their view on those with lesser power. On the positive side, there may be growing emphasis and pressure on organizations to be more accountable to employees who experience workplace bullying.…

Thank you for addressing the growing concern on global violence. However, we only need to look around our workplace, I mean the hospital, to note that nurses are also known to be perpetuators and victims of workplace violence in the form of bullying. I consider bullying a form of terrorism that caused “damaging effect on the victim’s well-being and facility” (Yildirim, 2009, p. 504). I am alarmed with the growing incidents of bullying among nurses, who are supposed to live up to the care ethics of the nursing profession. In one study, bullying was described as a workplace terror – a psychological terror that undermines an individual or group of employees (Yildirim, 2009). I also find bullying, as a form of terrorism to be much…

I then ask her about the coffee beans that I ordered in March but she couldn’t understand what I was saying and so she asked someone else to the phone. The other lady that came to the phone didn’t know what was going on as well, I’ve told them very clearly where I was calling from and what coffee beans have I ordered. The lady couldn’t care less and just hung the phone up on me without at the least trying to understand what I was talking about.
