EXPLAINING CONVERSION PROBLEM IN CACHE INC.
1. Executive Summary
Cache Inc. is a mall-based and online woman’s specialty retailer of apparel and accessories in the United States. There are 243 stores located in 41 states, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The store that we are focused on is the Cache in Escondido, California in the North County Mall.
Starting last year, the company decided to put conversion trackers in all of their stores to figure out just how well they were doing. Specifically, they wanted to look at the amount of foot traffic going in and out of the store each day compared to their number of sales. By doing so, they could figure out the busiest days of each year on average and the busiest days of the week in general. Then it would be broken down by hour for each day compared to the number of sales transaction’s done in each hour, so that they could schedule employee’s the most efficient way.
The question proposed was: Are there certain days and hours where more employee’s are needed on the sales floor to ensure the best customer service and most amount of sales possible for Cache?
Over the 4th fiscal month for the year, which was March 31st through April 29th, we collected and printed the data out each night to track to see how the numbers were fluctuating and comparing to each other. To do this we used an ANOVA analysis, which is used to analyze the differences between group means.
