Having an authoritarian government, the people of Burma face intense control by the government with limited, if any, elections or choices. ASSIGNEMENT TWO: Assignment: What Is Ethics? Think of a person who did something morally wrong, at least to your way of thinking. What was it? Explain to a classmate—why you think it was wrong. What is the basic principle that forms the basis for your judgment that it was wrong? Post your response.
The principles that form my personal judgment for what is “wrong” ultimately come down to the consequences and outcomes of the action committed by a person or group. We can all agree that Hitler was morally deranged. Responsible for mass genocide on over six million Jews and anyone else who stood in his way, his actions brought much unjust pain and suffering to the human race. The outcomes of his actions consisted of murdered and suffering children, slaughtered humans for no reason other than their race, mass destruction to many European countries, and the list could go on with the negative effects of his actions. The pain, suffering, and negative consequences and outcomes ultimately make this situation one of the most immoral acts in the history of time. Morally wrong actions come in all levels and degrees but usually something that brings a negative effect on people or oneself is considered wrong.
