Abstract
The term leadership can be defined in many ways; it can be defined as the process of social influence. When we speak of technology and leadership only one name comes to mind, Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs was a man that changed the whole technological world through his innovations and his leadership. Many will recognize his as the owner of Apple, but some closer to him will view him as more than just a technological genius but a leader. Steve Jobs defined what a leader was through his personal life and his professional life. Leaders were made to set an example and Steve Jobs epitomized leadership. Not everyone’s life is given to them on a silver platter and Steve Jobs represented everything that was right; he was the existential reason to believe that even after failing you can pick yourself up and make things right. “We have an environment where excellence is really expected. What’s really great is to be open when [the work] is not great. My best contribution is not settling for anything but really good stuff, in all the details. That’s my job — to make sure everything is great.” (Moisescot, 2012). Steve Jobs who was a very passionate businessman revolutionized the technological industry. Not only did he change the way music was being heard but the way music was purchased via ITunes. Steve Jobs was a man that defied all odds regardless of what the competitors and media were saying; he simplified everything for everyone because he felt that computers should be user friendly and not just for the super smart user. He revolutionized everything which made him famous; from computers to phones to music to books. Steve Jobs: the man, the myth, the legend.
