1. BACKGROUND OF THE BUSINESS
1.1 Name -Cafeteria Victoria Anne
1.2 Location -729 Victoria Street Intramuros, Manila
1.3 Year started -2010

2. FIRST VISIT 2.1 Tia’s Observation (February 19, 2014 7:00am-7:30am)
-there were less customers of about 5 or 6, maybe because its in the morning and most of the students prefer cheaper breakfasts. I noticed that most of the customers during morning are the ones staying at the dormitory besides the cafeteria, there might be more customers than what I have observed because some of the orders were delivered to the dormitory rooms.

2.2 Marasigan’s Observation(February 19, 2014 9:00am-10:00am)
-The place was somehow peacuful as i walk in. Some students are eating their late breakfast and was talking to each other. There was only 3 customers that time which are students from that dorm. After they eat, they watched tv along with the staffs. After some short chit chats, the students went back to their rooms and the chats of the staffs and the sounds of the tv was the only thing to be heard there. I conclude that during these time of the day, customers are not plenty as because they are still at class and others are still busy. It is not the usual time to eat.

All of the staff are present and available on their

The internal failure cost at the restaurant caused because of the slow services and undesirable food and its impact on customer satisfaction. The Case demonstrates that the Restaurant face an issue of the time maintains; where food preparation takes a long time. Typical time needed is 12 min to complete the meal, but sometimes it’s taking more than 20 min due the delay in the kitchen. This cause a slow in services and customer wait longer. This raises another issue which is restaurant design is not suitable for the customer who comes and order food “To Go”; where there no seats available and customer stand and wait. One main threat that could jeopardize Uni-Select’s success as a company is lack of financial capacity because as mentioned earlier, their business units are rather small. Another one is lower profitability, which can easily happen due to the necessary but costly investments. With the net earning of 50,125 in the operating results in 2014 turning into a net loss of (40.22 million dollars) in 2015, the business’s financial position can easily be threatened if the earnings are not enough to sustain the costs. Furthermore, Uni-Select’s financial position can be hindered by increasing rates of interest or interest fluctuation. Also mentioned in the annual report of Uni-select are threats associated with the economy such as inflation, threats associated…

For my networking assignment, I decided to pick the restaurant and retail industries out of the three industries I had in mind. I have always been curious about working in both industries and the management of it. In this assignment, I interviewed seven different people that were found through personal connections. I got to interview four restaurant owners, a market owner and a general manager, and an owner of two gift shops. By doing these interviews, I learned how to write and adjust my questions based on each interviewee. Each interview was from thirty minutes to an hour long. I learned a lot from the restaurant owners and retailers, and I also got to try some deliciously food. I was nervous before conducting each of my interviews, but it…

Tim’s Coffee Shoppe set up outside looks very appealing for customers to go inside and have a cup of coffee. When looking at the inside the atmosphere looks appealing for customers. The business is also open every day from 6am to 2am with a bus stop close to the business so it is easier to get too when not having a vehicle. Notice that the restaurant is located next to the college. With having a coffee shop next to a college this will mostly attract more college students and also with having live entertainment this should get more customers to come in. With the live entertainment I noticed that there is no time schedule to when the live entertainment is going to be at the restaurant it just states that the live entertainment will be there most afternoons and evenings. The restaurant has a buy ten get one for free, this is a good way to get the customers to come inside and buy some coffee and listen to the live entertainment.…

These older customers are an orderly group – and very friendly to anyone who comes in. Further, they are neater than most customers, and carefully clean up their tables when they leave. Nevertheless, Lisa is beginning to wonder if anything should be done about her growing “nonfast-food” clientele. There’s no crowding problem yet, during the time when the seniors like to come. I scratched my eyelids as I wait for my water to boil. I made my coffee and grabbed coins for breakfast. Outside my boarding house, eateries line up like a welcoming buffet feast on a festival. I entered the one where I usually eat. Actually, in my two months of stay here, I never thought of ordering a meal from other canteen. Sooner or later, I wouldn’t be surprised if they call me “suki”(patron). I pointed at one of the dishes and ordered one cup of rice. I took my meal to a table and started eating.…

Having a tour around the restaurant, I noticed that the workers are friendly and able to serve the large number of customers. The guests are satisfied with the services they get from this restaurant. The staff does not ignore calls and they talk in a professional and courteous manner. Listening to the staff responding to the guests over the phone shows that the staff has respect for the customers and they have effective communications skills. The workers are clean and the utensils used to serve are also clean. This is the restaurant where customers’ orders are considered. The customer service is excellent because the customer eats the food they ask for and even have some offer to welcome the customers. The waiters are able to save discrepancies whenever they arise. The answer politely and listen to the views of the customers. The housekeepers also are warmly welcoming and their services are effective.
