Wells Fargo has been known to deliver business by the fastest means possible whether by stagecoach, railroad, pony rides or telegraph, by the year 1858 it started its overland mail company the famed “butterfield line” to meet the demand for speedy communication across the sea. (Wells Fargo, 2016)
On the completion
of the railroad in 1869, Wells Fargo took to the rails on an increased level, while in 1888 the company became the country’s first express company and adopted the motto “ocean –to – ocean” which described that their services are connected to over 2,500 communities in 25 states and “over the seas”.
Wells Fargo made customer business easy from New York to New Jersey to Chicago and the Midwest region, ranches and mines in Texas and Arizona, and to the mill towns in the Pacific Northwest, they offered large and small basic financial services such as money orders, travelers’ checks, and funds transfer by telegraph.
By the year 1910, the company had links already in 6,000 locations which includes new offices in the upper Midwest and great river lake regions.
