1. Introduction
Ha Phuong- an MBA degree holder trained by RMIT Vietnam has created a business named Mobile I-cream which focuses on using trucks to selling ice cream in a locomotive way. There are three main operation areas of the company in Ho Chi Minh City. They are district 1, district 2 and district 3.
Despite many efforts made by the company, the sale performance has not reached the business’s expectation, particularly in district 1. Therefore, the purpose of this report is to investigate the business data in term of sales to clarify the problem, explains causes of the issue and suggests possible recommendations to improve sales as well as promote Mobile I-cream.
The report has 3 major sections: sales analysis, problem analysis and social network promotion. In the first part, the provided data will be examined to identify the issue of sales in district 1 that hinders the company from gaining their business goal. The second section will demonstrate the reasons why these problems occur. Finally, the third part will indicate how social network could develop the business and present advantages as well as perils when utilizing this promotion tool.
2. Business discussion
a. Sales analysis
Sales per shift
Most of the sales recorded between April and June in 2013 were belong to the afternoon shift while the morning shift had the least sales. As the data shows, the number of sales in the morning shift occupied only 27 % in total whereas in the afternoon shift, sales accounted for 39% (see figure 1).
