BUSINESS BTEC LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA

ABOUT THE COURSE/SUBJECT
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is a two year course, is equivalent to three A Levels and is 100% coursework.At the end of the first year, subject to successful completion of coursework, you will be awarded a Level 3 BTEC 90 Credit Diploma prior to transferring into the second year. Like any business course, the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma will explore the key elements of running a successful business. The core themes will look at:
Marketing: how businesses sell goods;
Human Resources: how people are managed as part of a team in an organisation and getting the right people for a job;
Operations: getting the right amount of goods (or services) at the right quality to consumers;
Finance: making sure that there is sufficient cash and profit for the business to survive and flourish;
External Environment: factors that affect a business and over which businesses have no control
(including the economy and competition).
You will be committed to study the extended diploma for two years. It is a big commitment of your time.

A BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is a practical, work-related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments in a variety of formats that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. Your focus will be on the whole area of business and you will develop a range of specialist skills and knowledge. You will develop the ability to manage your own time to meet deadlines, work independently and as a team member.
COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
General entry requirements are 5/6 GCSEs, or equivalent, at C or above to include English and/or
Mathematics.
